As a new family to the area my husband and I were quite worried about our child attending 8th grade and another child starting here next year. My husband and I have been impressed....our child is doing well they have a MESA program (Math Engineering Science) that is outstanding and the teachers really are dedicated to the children. Kudos to Mr. Bateson staff and teachers! With such a diverse group at Taylor PTO has been trying to gain more family support but otherwise have been keeping trying to keep families notified of what is happening. Hope there will be more after school programs next year...school could use a cross country team or outdoor related club with the trails close by.

Taylor is a gem of a school. The teachers are intelligent caring and professional. There are a variety of classes offered to accommodate many different types of learners. My children have been successful at Taylor and have gone on to be successful in high school. Thank You Taylor MS!

My son entered this school as a 7th grader after attending a previous middle school in Albuquerque. At his previous school he was suspended had low grades and really began to hate school. we battled with him daily to even get out of bed. He now likes school has numerous friends and gets up in the morning. I believe the administration and the "small school" feel has made a difference for him. Even though he will not attend next year he likes school again. Thanks Taylor and Mr Bateson!!

I am a new parent with children at Taylor Middle school. I must say that the teachers have showed our family their enthusiasm to push for your children. They have been nothing but helpful and kind. Connunication is important between staff teachers students and parents and I feel this has been directed as a priority in this school. I encourage parents to stay focused on their children's academic progress by staying on top of their children's agendas and staying in touch with each teacher. Thanks to all staff teachers who have made my children feel comfortable and safe at your school. May God bless this school and all who enter it.

Taylor Middle School has a wide variety of learning experiences academic and well as social. Taylor has a wonderful Principal involved at every level of this school and a Vice-Principal who was just elected Vice-Principal of the year award. It is a wonderful place to come to school.

It has a small town feel in the midst of a big city. Great parents caring staff committed students.

Taylor has a positive attitude and pleasant environment. This school provides art and music for enrichment with fantastic teachers. The administration is behind the staff and students 100%. The students are engaged in fun learning projects that are then displayed for the whole school to see. Students are given Great Kid awards when they are 'caught' doing something good for emphasis on the positive. It is a great school to work at.

My Son attends Taylor Middle School and is a special education student there. Having been in APS special ed all his school life I have to say that this is the first year that there has been an understanding and an improvement in him. He is treated as an individual there and well taken care of. He feels safe and loved there I'm grateful for this school and his teachers more then I can express.

Taylor has a great Gifted program- they've built it up over the last three years and none of the gifted classes have over 12 students. One of the gifted teachers was a finalist for the Golden Apple Award and she does independent study and video production with her kids- you can see it all on their website- taylorgifted.org

Taylor has the finest staff I've ever worked with in my career. The administration is top notch. Teachers at this school genuinely care about students and go above and beyond their jobs as defined by the district contract for the benefit of the students. We try very hard to make sure that students are in classes that are most beneficial for them and we try very hard to keep parents active and informed. I wouldn't leave Taylor for any other school in this district!

My son attended Taylor in both 6th and 7th grade. He was satisfied with the school in 6th grade and performed to an average level. However in 7th grade he disliked the school intently and his teachers did not over exert themselves to help him. I wanted him to challenge himself academically but the school wanted to test him first to see if he was able to perform well enough in more challenging classes. I think this tracks students into low average and high end groups which educational research shows is not conducive to student acheivement for those students who are in smart classes. I plan to transfer my son next school year.

I think that Taylor middle school is a great school for students to expand their learning. I also think that the extra curicular activities are cool because there is mostly something for every student. There is cooking basketball soccer computers and also many more for students to have fun after school ends.

Taylor middle school has great after school progrmas consisting of cooking computers games and movies dance cheerleading. It's extracurricular activities are good they've had great basketball seasons. The students have very nice and wonderful teachers both physical education and in the classes too. The teachers make sure that all the homework is fair so that the students can have time to do them and do the other sports. I would recommend tms to anyone.

There are few extra curricular activities and the principal doesnt do anything about it. I would not recommend this school because it has few oppertunities for students and the teachers dont care if you fail or pass. The gifted prpgram has few opptions as well. The only g-class is english and the teacher is new and doesnt know how to teach very well from inexperience. The school is fairly large and teachers dont have one-on-one time with students. I would not go to TMS if I were you.
