Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS)

In 2010-2011, the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) was used to test students in reading in grades 3 through 9; in writing in grades 4 and 7; in English language arts in grades 10 and 11; in mathematics in grades 3 through 11; in science in grades 5, 8, 10 and 11; and in social studies in grades 8, 10 and 11. TAKS is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Texas. The grade 11 Exit Level TAKS is a high school graduation requirement. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.

Okay where to begin? Okay first of all Rosebud-Lott seems to care more about the rules than anything else. I think that the students deserve a little more freedom. People may think thats a bad idea but i have been to schools with alot more freedom and it seems to be a whole lot better that RLHS. And to add some of the teachers are not the greatest! Honestly RLHS has alot to work on and improve on! Better shape up before it becomes a 1-A. Oh and they should add more activities at the school. More languages and things like that!

RL H.S. Needs lots of help. They need to build a new school. It's full of mold and mildew and making our children sick. Our school board doesn't seem to really want to do anything about it. I hope something can be done quick. The academics well they need to offer more electives for the students to take. There are some teachers that need to review the NCLB rules and some adminstrative needs to read it also. Hope something gets done.

My wife & I stayed in RL because of the schools and as bad as this last year was I know that the new School Board will get things back on track. I love this school and my children are taught in a safe environment but the discipline does need to step up. The majority of the Teachers are excellent and really do care about their students.

R-L School District has a lot to be desired. This past year the District has completely been revamped. And has created more problems then we have ever had before.
