I went to Louisburg High School for all four years of my high school education. I came from the Atlanta Georgia Metro area six years prior and fter reading the poorly written reviews on this site I feel the need to stick up for my old Alma Mater. You see Louisburg High school like one review said is just like any other high school out in the country. The School Board of North Carolina spends most of it's money on Wake County Schools so you will not see a bunch of fancy new fangled things there - but the teachers and stuff try their best with what little they are given. And like with most things every place has their strengths and weaknesses - Louisburg's strengths are the wonderful Band program lead by the determined band Teacher Brian Miller and the other is the English department. I enjoyed all my English classes there along with being a dedicated band student. I will agree though the faculty do seem rather concerned with strange things but hey it's high school.

There are hardly any supervised organized clubs and not even a drama club in the school. The clubs that do exist are haphazardly run. The student population is uncooperative the punishments for dress code infractions are non-existant and the school administration depends too much on Social Services DHS and the Sherriff's department to do their work for them. Horrible horrible school. I only wish we had the opportunity to put our 3 kids elsewhere. I saw a 5-star post from 2004 that raved about the great teachers administration and academic programs. Something really bad has happened to this school because for the past 4 years we've seen absolutely nothing except dissappointment frustration lack of concern and a militant attitude toward parents who TRY to be involved with the administration on behalf of their children.

Louisburg high school is not a very good school cuz they have too many strict rules on the students.

We have had one child graduate and one is a sr. and we are very pleased. LHS is like any school...there has to be an effort put forth on behalf of the students. From all that I have seen the teachers do I fine job. Both of my children started at a different High School in a different county I was relocated due to my job. Trust me LHS is a far better school. In fact we do not even live in Franklin county...we asked for a change of venue and we pay for our children to attend LHS. So all I can say is keep trying and improving...I think you do a great job.

The teachers are terrible the students are uncontrollable the Administration is too concerned about unrelevant things. The food is below par but that could be expected. There aren't enough classes for students to take. It has recently been expanded but that does not make up for its poor administration

Louisburg High School is a fantastic school for every child to attend. With such programs as 'Freshman Academy' (an alternative environment for students not up to grade level standards) and multiple ADvanced courses LHS provides a quality education environment for every student. Under the leadership and motivation of administration faculty and staff Louisburg High School is truly a unique place to receive an education. With excellent programs (such as Band with around 140 members) and other great extra-curricular activites (Photography SAVE HOSA SkillsUSA etc.) LHS provides something for everybody! The teaching staff at LHS is of the highest standards with many teachers who previously taught at the college level! Louisburg High School provides such a level of community-oriented down-to-earth teacher-to-student education which you can find nowhere else. Being a relatively small school with explosive school pride I would recommend this school to anyone moving to Franklin County. Visit LHS at http //
