George County Middle School is despite what they say an average school. I have had my fair share of teachers who honestly don't care and others who are incredibly involved and helpful. While the teachers are usually fine the school is out of balance. Popular students often get away with everything sports are viewed as more important than art and music. Groups such as Beta Club are not viewed as equal to Student Council which is fully student-voted. Not to mention that the school is in an extremely prejudice area. Many people are racist sexist and homophobic and aren't scared to show it.

For the most part the teachers at this high school are doing great..with what they have to work with. Funding has been taken away they are being undermined by administration in front of the students and then people are wondering why there is not a happy successful environment for the students. I like uniforms but to remove a child from class because they forgot their belt is silly. I think every school has trouble makers...why make all the children and teachers pay for the few that cause this trouble. It makes common sense that happy children and happy teachers make a Great Learning environment. This can be done without doing away with discipline.

the uniforms should go i moved away from george county this past year and now attend a school without uniforms and there is so much more time for school work there's no isi because of a logo on a shirt or no missing school because you didnt wash your school shirt. its so much easier

As a student i think they should take the uniforms away... They may think there helping but its worse. When you go to class you cant even learn because the teacher has to stop and write someone up! its stupid to get suspended from school for a button on your shirt being undone it so stupid... Our test score is goin to go down because so many people is getting o.S.S or i.S.S and it taking away their learning time... Who cares if a button is undone...? The rules arent fair anyway jocks and cheerleaders get their own rules they get treated different with the uniform rules.. They can get away with everything by ever teacher....! Its stupid and unfair.

Gchs is a great place i didn't think that as a student but after a few years in the real world my mind has definatley changed. No matter what school you attend there will always be problems from drug activity gangs and bad staffing. But no matter how hard a teacher will teach if the student doesn't care to learn; then all efforts are a waste. So ponder that before saying what has been being said about a great school like this! students if you want better; than step up and make it happen! landis watts

As a graduate of GCHS I believe that the school needs improvement. Seeing other parts of the world GCHS is not a school that I would send my children to. As other people have mentioned drugs are a big problem in GCHS well actually George County period. It seems to get worse as the years pass. When I went to school there I knew of many students who were into drugs and now I know a few current students and they see much more than I did.

As a parent I dislike GCHS very much. I graduated from here and thought of it as a great school then..I had some of the greatest teachers who actually loved to teach but times have changed so much. There is very little discipline..especially where drugs & tobacco are concerned..there are many wonderful teachers that do stand out and actually love to teach & that shows through. If I had a choice...I would NOT subject my child to the type of people this school helps to develop. It's sickening what goes on here and no one does a thing about it. Everyone is afraid of insulting a teacher's doctor's or lawyer's child..but what about the welfare of the children...when do they begin to matter?

My husband and I have a 11th grader at GCHS and all of the teachers she has had have been wonderful. They have been very helpful in letting us know where dhe stands in her sore classes. The vo-tech consoler has been very helpful as well in helping to keep us as parents informed on how our daughter is doing.

As a student of George County Highschool I believe that the quality of learning is quite low. Most of the time in the classes are spent reviewing or only preparing for the upcoming state tests. I have seen very few teachers every actually try and touch the minds of their students. Though the school has many extracurricular activites most have little funding. The level of drugs in the school is quite high. There are also small gangs in the school which so far have caused few problems.

I'm sorry but as a former student of GCHS I find it to be a less great school. George County High School is based around the Jocks and Cheerleaders if your not one of them than your not treated the same. Most Teachers treat 'some' students better than others just because of the social status and I dont feel that to be rite.

George county is a wonderful place. The high school is one oustanding place to graduate from. I believe that because of the education I recieved there I am where I am at today. The teachers encourage the love of learning in each student and then they push them to the highest level. I highly recommend the school to everyone looking for a great place to be.
