I am extremely happy with HTH Middle School. My son just started this year as a 6th grader. So far I have found the teachers extremely professional and enthusiastic. The principal and vice principal are excellent and ensure the students are learning in a safe and happy environment. The students are offered a rich and varied learning experience with a variety of extracurricular clubs and societies.

My daughter graduated from here and my son is halfway thru. There has never been an issue that hasn't been handled quickly easily and efficiently. Great communication between school and parents.
Located in a urban suburban near NYC but with a small town feel. Both my daughters go to HTHerber. Love the small classes absolutely devoted young enthusiastic teachers and wonderful principal and administration who take great pride in the school. A multicultural population provides a global experience similar to what I grew up with in NYC. Academically challenging with honor classes and supportive of students with varied needs. My daughters have had many opportunities to be involved musically and with community service. There has never been flaunting of materialism by any student which compared to any other schools on Long Island is amazing to me. This beautiful art deco building (1930's) is very clean but the physical infrastructure of the building is the only improvement I would suggest.
My son is a 6 th grader at Howard T Herber. The teachers and administrators are passionate about education and very sensitive to the students' needs. The environment is safe and controlled. He is involved in clubs and the music program. So far we are very happy with the school. He has been in the district since kindergarten and has always had an enriching educational and social experience.
This school is very spirited holds many pep rallies each year and the school is very caring. They are also very serious about the state tests they make easy ways for kids to remember things that their teachers taught them to help them with their state tests. Not only academically good but their bands are very advanced. They have very good advanced band teachers. They learn much each year. In fact the high school marching band of Malverne also known as "Pride of Malverne" have won the state championships two times in a row 2010 and 2011. They won also on 2004. So yes. Overall this school runs very efficiently and smooth.
Howard T. Herber is a wonderful school with very knowledgeable caring and supportive teachers. The administrative staff takes the time out to update parents on all things relating to students. They recognize the talent in every child and should be commended for their great efforts in producing future leaders
My son has attended HTH for two years now and I am very happy with this school. The teachers are outstanding. The principal and other administrators are always looking for ways to improve things and really care about the children. I feel lucky that this is my public school
the school has a wonderful curriculum and will give you a solid education. There are amazing teachers that will teach your child everything they need to know and more. If you don't go to this school then you should tell your parent or guardian to transfer you immediately to this wonderful district
I noticed all of the reviews of HTH MS are from 2004. I have two children attending the school and have only great things so say about it. The only thing wrong is that the people in this town don't send there kids there. What is wrong with all of you. The teachers are great the principal is wonderful and respected by the kids. There are tons of extra's going on every day from theatre club to science club. I have never had any bullying problems and the staff keeps everyone in check. The children that my kids have made friends with are great and they are developing nice relationships with many different ethnic backrounds like the real world. Don't go by what you hear until you experience this school district yourself.
As a former student I must say the teachers and staff are excellent! However the students are out of control. Many people throw scream fight and bully other people. The student body is horrific. I believe the teachers and staff deserve better students. I feel very uncomfortable in the Howard T. Herber environment and that is why I am a former student.
Excellent 7th & 8th grade teachers. I moved my son from a private school to Malverne HTH MS and I have no regrets. This school's Special Education program has also been above average in tending to my child's needs. Go HTH!
Excellent Principal adminstration and teaching staff. Has done excellent job in increasing their academic abilities consistently over several years now.
