This is a great school. My son will be graduated this year. I like the teachers are very responsible. Events are having parents to get involved.

As a graduate from Manalapan High School it is well run to prepare students for college. The AP Programs are great the after school activities are great and the sports programs are great. Overall great school for a great education.
Manalapan High School gives students a top notch education. I have two children who graduated from here and went on 4-year colleges. The newest principal Jeff Simon has done a great job with making the school a safer learning environment and has done well with enforcing rules and following through with consequences. The sports teams are average have good years here and there. Baseball and soccer(girls+boys) have been really great in most recent years. There are many clubs to join and they plan lots of in school events for the students. Many parents are involved as well. The students who come out of the science+engineering program are remarkably intelligent and few and far between. Through and through great school.
My son will be graduating this year and has exceeded beyong my expectations! Someone was accepted to Harvard this year also. My son had excellent SAT and ACT scores and was accepted to his first choice school. The person who says there is little to do doesn't know what they're talking about as this school has plenty to offer. The new principal is fantastic also and all I see is the school getting better and better. The whole school is top notch definitely not just the S&E program. It is far from an average school.
Manalapan hs is pretty average high school. However the Science and Engineering program is top notch and will make any science and math related college education easy.
I have to say I don't agree with the posting a parent sent in(March 2008) which said that their child has not ver little at Manalapan HS. I have a daughter who is a junior there. She is doing very well. She has good SAT scores and has excellent grades. She is also very involved in many of the sports Manalapan has to offer. She also has met great friends who are also doing very well and are being accepted into great colleges. Every school has its issues with drugs and teachers who aren't the best. I have to say I have been happy with the education my daughter has gotten there and I look forward to her succeeding in her college years.
Manalapan High School has come around throughout the beginning of the 21st century. With a new principal and a completely transformed guidance office the students at MHS are learning in a safer an healthier environment. School officials have cut down the amount of bad influences such as drugs and violence. There are now smoke detectors all over the school and cameras in nearly every hallway. Although the school has come a long way there is still a need for improvement. The athletic program is extremely important to many Manalapan High School faculty and students but with that said academics need to come first. Manalapan High School is a great place for students to develop their individuality but the faculty needs to continue to work on enforcing the importance of education.
Manalapan High School will teach your children very little. The curriculum is surrounded by the teachings of the holacaust. The faculty concentrates on disciplinary actions for tardiness and other infractions and spends little time pressing for academics. If you want your child to fail in life send them to Manalapan High School. Believe it or not this is my honest opinion as I have had three children all pass through this school and they will most likely have difficult lifestyles due the lack of education afforded at this institution.
My daughter is new to the school (9th grade). I have found a significant decline in the 'approach' of parent-teacher-student collaboration as compared to the junior high school. Big eye opener!
Th school just got a new principal. I have a good feeling about him. I am happy with the school.I have one child that graduated and one still in high school. I have no problems. Niether does my child.
teachers are very proactive can truly say they helped my special needs child. more racial integration is needed.
I have to agree that the school is so overcrowded that the quality of education and the amount of control the administration has over the students has totally diminished to the point that we have taken our child out of the Manalapan school in their senior year. There are little or no consequences to the students for cutting school because so many are doing it. It takes days for the school staff to even find out about it. The guidance counselors have so many students per counselor there is no way they can keep up with each case. We waited over a week for a return phone call after we left two messages. Totally unacceptable response time especially when there is parent involvement to an issue that the school was ignoring. We felt that the school was not backing up the parents. Yet the school always states they want parent involvement.
I agree with all the parents who have listed reviews. The principal of manalapan high school is not a team player. Even though to date we have received two new assistant principals (and they are great) manalapan still is in desperate need of a new principal. I would really like to know why the parents of manalapan do not have more of a say when it comes to their childrens high school? The words parent involvement at manalapan are a joke. If parents were truly allowed to be involved do you think the principal would still be there? This change is about the students not politics not unions. The change needs to be made yesterday before its too late for more students. Maybe the superintendant should step up to the plate? As far as discipline suspensions are like a bandaid on a bleeding artery. Thats where parent involvement comes in!
School is in desperate need of new administration. To date we have 2 new avp's. Great!! but we need a principal who wants to be a part of the community not a stranger to it. The old avp is burnt out. Promotion of parent involvement is a necessity. They like it when the parents don't get involved.Less to deal with. New blood would bring wonderful changes to the hs. It's time to boost moral.
I agree with the last review. This Principal does not know her kids nor her faculty. She is all about IMAGE. Major issues never get addressed. This Principal will act to the detriment of the students if she perceives parents have 'gone over her head' in order to resolve an issue or help the students attain a goal. A major problem with in-school smoking is ignored. Certain activitiy groups are given preference over others. Some parents are reluctant to pursue this issue for fear of 'retribution' toward their child's activity group. It's always a fight to get the administration to support the students. The teachers however mostly appear to care and take an interest in the students. I agree that the guidance counselors are overworked. This could be a great school with the right person in charge.
Schools are like corporations If the man at the top is not good those below will not be the best. They won't work hard enough to please someone they don't respect. This is the situation at MHS. MHS is a very ill run school. Students and faculity have no respect for the top person.
Manalapan High School is a pretty bad school. It's basically a joke.
I think that Manalapan High School needs a lot of work. They have oversized classes poor facilities and their guidance counselors have too many students.
Definitely school with 'attitude' both on the part of students and teachers. Maybe it's the culture in this town but rudeness abounds on the part of both educators and students. Caters to high achievers but warehouses those with special needs or who have Individualized Education Plans. My daughter is a senior and completely unprepared for life past high school. She failed many of her classes throughout junior year yet passed with 'D's at the end of the year so she would enter 12th grade. She was a transfer student and her former public high school seemed better prepared to handle her special needs than this one is. Parents of special needs children beware and be cautious keep on top of the educators here or your child will be pushed out at graduation with little or no marketable skills.
