Maple Heights High School is not a great school by far. I have a child that attends this school. She has college hopes and we have found this school to be lacking in the preparations that are needed for college entry. My child is currently in the 10th grade and I her mother had to show her how to write a proper APA science term paper. She told me that her teacher never showed her that and that they can just write down what ever they wanted. She has also informed me that some of the teachers curse as they teach the class. How are our children expected to get ready for college and the world if they staff don't even care. Not to mention the HORRIBLE BULLYING PROBLEM!! The extremely lacking Arts department. However you will be happy to know that the Sports department is not lacking and just received a BRAND NEW Stadium. GO MUSTANGS!!!

My 9th grade son had a terrible experience at this school his first year. His was harassed and picked on by fellow classmates. There was also a drop in all ofb his grades. How could any student. focus in a school where there is no discipline. It almost seem that the students ran the building.
I am a former student of this school. The years I spent here were among the worst of my life. As one of the few white students in school I was constantly harassed picked on had my belongings stolen etc. I was faced with racially-motivated speech quite often and the administration did little to stop it. Lackluster building books and education in general. Don't punish your children sending them here.
I've lived out here in Maple for over 17 years and I have witnessed a tremendous change within the school system Thanks to a superb superintendent!! It has gotton a lot better on some of the PARENTS part as far as parentening for the most. These Teachers need to really be acknowledge Honored by the parents for tolerating some of their children's pathetic rude behavior. But their behavior has improved unless they graduated or relocated out of the city.
The High School is horrible. I'm a student there all what happens there is vandelism violence drugs and sex. The school is so dirty you'll find used condoms on the floor. The adults in the school is uncaring and violent. NEVER SEND YOUR KID TO MAPLE!!!
horrible school not up-to-date books no professionals for teachers. always broken heating system dirty
Not pleased with responses from teachers and administrators. Notices about changes or curriculums are late. Never uses books for current curriculums. Not equipped.
I am a current home owner and parent of three Maple Students. In the seven years that I have lived in the district there had been improvement but it still ranks below average. While the elementary schools motivate the students I have seen the middle and high school goes the opposite direction. I am in the process of moving out of the district for this very reason. Unless something improves fast I see this district turning into another Cleveland Public school system.
This is a 'first person' report about maple heights high school! i am a part of the school district and i am glad to be aboard. Without fear of being labeled 'biased ' i can truly say that our students make the community proud! i am a homeowner in maple heights. Therefore i know how many of the students warm up to me when they see me on the street. It is like a 'family relationship!' i do not hold back on discipline and i get the support of most of my administrators. Nine times out of 10 most of the students i referred for disciple relate better with me and advise their peers not to transgress. The joy of a teacher i think is in knowing that she/he has made a difference. My students show this to me on the street in the classroom restaurants drive-through. You name it. They are excellent!
Maplel Heights school system has really declined although I see the Brd Of Ed is trying to re-establish the school system. I oly hope it works. As a parent I am greattly disappointed therefor I plan on relocating to another sity with a much better school system.
Kids are not counseled they are more criticized than counseled. Put down and some teachers don't seem to care. No tutors are available.
