We had a great experience watching our daughter go to school in the Highland School System from Kindegarten to graduating in 2011. The teachers were mostly good you will never find a school that is 100% in that area. The kids were like one big family without clicks and respected each other well. College Courses were made to high school level at an early stage in high school enabling students to get a head start. The new high school is absolutely beautiful. To let you know the way the students felt about the administration when our daughter graduated we watched each classmate on their own as they received their diploma's give the Principal (at that time- Mr. Dodd's who is now Superintendent) a big hug. That says alot. Very proud to live in Highland School District.

Now with Highland Central Elm under new leadership I love this school. There is a high level of parent involvement. The teachers are outstanding! Very Excited about the New Highschool and future of this school district.
Great structure at this school and the staff are great
The thing I like best about Highland Central is the amount of teachers who are dedicated to student success. The only thing that kept me from giving a 4 star rating is leadership.
There are crowding issues but overall I'm very happy with Highland Central Elementary. There is a high level of parent involvement and a strong sense of community. The teachers are outstanding! I can not brag on them enough. In the 4 years my son has gone to this school (working on 5 now) I have been deeply grateful to every teacher he has had for going above and beyond.
Parents... If you don't mind massive neglect of your children and do not have a child with special needs send your child here. Teachers at this school do not encourage students that recieve services mandated by an I.E.P.
