I have two children. One graduated this past June from Eastplain and the other is attending Eastplain. I couldn't be any happier with the school and the entire school district. The teachers are strong supportive kind and passionate about their jobs and students. I myself came from one of the top 10 school districts on Long Island and that district couldn't hold a candle to Plainedge. We are so happy we chose to move to this area 8 years ago.

I am very happy with both my children attending Eastplain. I have recently moved into the district and have seen a tremendous improvment from their last school. I believe it is because of the care and time of my children's teachers.
I have several students in the district and I feel that this district is going down hill fast the treat all levels in elementary schools as if they were in kindergarden the PTA is very clicky and uninviting they are losing people daily to volunteer!! I agree with another review too many hands in the same pot is not good for the parents or students in the district. The taxes we pay in this district is out of control.
Wonderful school and staff. My child is a special education student (has ADD) the district as well as the teachers have provided both wonderful services and support.
Eatplain school seems to be getting worse. This school uses BSM(math program)Math has become all about units(1's)flats('s) rods(10's)sample question Jane has 216 cookies how many flats rods and units does she have? (2 flats 1 rod and 6 units is the answer). This program costs a lot of tax-money to keep running imported from another country must pay special custom officer every year. Teachers must be trained-over the summer and on their own time plus this is the first year teachers are teaching this way in 3rd grade. The reading program is 'letter'based. They have a guided reading section-the children get to read the same book for 2 weeks and they do not have workbooks.Principal just tenured no class aides rolling carts for Computers and Art. School is getting overcrowded.Very nice people very caring teachers.Vice president of PTA also on Board of Ed. PTA presidend running for BOE too. All the same hands in everything. ODD
I have two children presently attending Eastplain Elementary School. I have found the teachers to be excellent caring and very supportive. The principal is a wonderful addition to the school. Her enthusiasm is catching! My children have been receiving excellent instruction and the school's marked improvement on standardized test scores has shown that they continue to strive to help our students reach their fullest potential. I only wish that every school district was this good. It would help our country flourish!
My son will be graduating from Eastplain in June 2004. He has received an excellent education. The teachers are dedicated and friendly. The small size of the school lends to an environment where every child is known by name. A recent bond has endowed the school with a state of the art multi media center. Videoconferencing is part of the curriculum. The school and administration is very involved in Futurecorp activities which contribute to the growth and development of caring individuals. The playground is old and in need of updating and the school menu is not particularly appetizing but otherwise the school is top notch.
