This is a very good school i'm a student their now and one of the top students in the school. The Board do focus on basketball alot but the teachers comes to work everyday and do their jobs. The only problem is the students behavior and that reflects the parents not the school.

Wilco is the best school even though we look to basketball as a sport that's bringing in the money so all the other stuuf that people say don't even matter............................ even though Dr.johnson is gone he's spirit still lives .. i give major props to Gasaway and Miles cause they stepped up. Without them this school wouldn't be nothing ..........

Wilkinson County High School is just as good as any other public school. There are pros and cons in any organization. Many students have transferred to Wilco for various reasons not only for sports. Anytime a school has a successful athletic program it seems to get poor ratings. Wilkinson Co just happens to be basketball country is there anything wrong with success. The graduation rate has been remarkable in the last few years. We have some teachers that arent as committed as others but that is worldwide. We also have some parents that arent as committed to their children as others. So lets enjoy the success that we have had over the last forty years. We need something to cheer about. Send your children to Wilco to enjoy small town feel. It will be an experience they will never forget. It is up to the individual afterwards.

I went to wilkinson county ever since I started school. Pre-k through 10. I have unenrolled because I feel that I will get a much better education on my own than with this school. I plan to further my education but not because of this school. It really all went down hill will Harold Johnson became Principle. I mean he can't even get the mission statement right. Some of the teachers are great but others are horrible. There is a teacher that if you do not understand what she is 'teaching' or telling rather you are out of luck. The point of a teacher is to teach not to expect your students to know the answers. I feel sports is the problem. They spent several million on a gymnasium yet they didn't get teachers the supplies they needed till 1 month untill the end of the school year of 2007-2008.

I think this is a great school yeah we focus alot on basketball but we also have the highest grad. Rate in middle georgia. Not only are we good on the courts we are just as good in the classrooms.

This is the worst school that I have ever attended. The leadership only focuses on basketball as you can well see be the other comments. To make a clear evaluation of the school just look at the grammar of the students who have made the comments. This school lacks the knowledge as well as the drive to teach students how to succeed. They do not teach the students to create values for themselves and live by them. People are being catered to because of their circumstance rather than the achievements being made. Most people who graduated from Wilco and achieved something in life was not in because of the poor schooling that they were given. This school should be closed!

This isn't the best school around but I liked it. I graduated fourth in my class as an Honor's Graduate so the teachers I had knew what they were doing for the most part. If you look the test scores they are great. The 8 graders tested higher than the whole state in every section. Go Middle School teachers. I do think that the High School needs some work at least since the last time I was there. A few of the teachers have become afraid of their students and let them do what they want. I believe the school is improving though. I wont comment on the sports teams because I wasn't into that part of school very much.

Well personally I think that every school has problems. Mostly cause we got parents who really don't know what's going on and are just going by what people say. Yeah I played basketball and what we do get it comes from programs that we do on our on or people who sponsor us. We can't help it if the other sports don't do well. I only played one sport because that's really all I could handle and plus I felt that the other sports don't have the same work ethic as the basketball team.

This school needs help. You go looking for the principal and he is no where to be found. All they care about is basketball basketball basketball. I don't blame folks for putting their kids in private schools.

On a scale of 1 to 10 I think Wilco High is a 6. It needs a lot of improvement on an academic level. The school needs more tutoring programs available to these children. I think that the school system is unfair to the kids who play sports other than basketball. Basketball is this school's #1 priority not academics. But it has yet to produce an NBA player. If you do not play basketball your child's athletic stats will not be taken seriously nor recorded on a regular basis. Scouting for athletic scholarships is very miminal if you do not play basketball. This is why these kids get discouraged and often do not play the other sports.

I love this school! I am a Senior at Wilkinson County High School. The teachers are very active in their students lives. The counselors are also very essential in the school because they have personally helped me to become a Freshman at Macon state College. I am also an Honor Graduate and i am very proud to say that this school has helped me to become prepared for my future endeavors in life.

Wilkinson County High School is a bad school to send your children to. Its unfair and students get away with anything. The school system is always low on teachers and staff and education is not a priority there. Advisors could care less about student's academics and dont bother to schedule them the classes they need in order to graduate.

I think that Wilkinson County High School is a great school to attend. It has a serious feel but it is not too serious as some private schools may seem to be. The teachers are very involved with their students lives and very concerned with their outcome in life I think this is due to the small town in which the school is located. Overall it is a great school to attend and I for one am glad I have the oppurtunity to be a student there.
