I am very concerned about the abundance of homework some teachers are giving their students. Are the teachers forgetting that students have more than one class. my granddaughter came home Tuesday with 12 Biotechnology Questions and each question had about 5 -7 parts to it. All together it was about 80 questions in all that needed to be researched by Friday. Why didn't the teacher give the students at least a week or two to do this. Now i see why so many students grades are dropping because of all the absurd homework. Teachers need to TEACH and not sit at their desk and pass out mounds of homework everyday.

I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone but those who's into corporeal punishment/Military. I attendant this school and let me tell you something. I just came from New York and I'm used to the New York culture. I went to Eagles landing because some people "Claimed" that It was a top school. The beginning of school I have already been harassed by a staff because I was simply trying to put my phone away when It was coming off my pocket. He tried to take it away but I simply said "No" so we disputed it in the consolers office and I was able to turn it to someone I knew better. The week when I started this school This women looked at me up and down and took me into her office and told me what I'm wearing is wrong. I tried to make myself look nice to school but she wanted to suspend me just because I had a little rip on my pants. I'm shocked because I didn't know that a simple "Outfit" can prevent me from getting my education. Also the school is outdated. No smart boards no updated computers It feels like I'm in the 1970's. Some of the teachers Is nice but this school needs to stop coming up with these nonsense rules. I will be hopefully transferring next year.

I have been attending this school for the last 2 weeks. My last 2 weeks was extremely stressful. Every minute there has to be an exam which clearly doesn't make no sense. I am new to the school and I have been stopped in the hallways because of the pants I was wearing which had a little rip on it "Design" I was about to be suspended. I say to myself Do they actually care about the pants I wear instead of my education? I am a hard working student and I shouldn't be harassed every minute in the hallways by a staff. This school Is also very old fashioned I noticed that In the computer lab they have very old computers No smart boards and no anyways to help us students with their education. There is construction going on which Is very weird because they couldn't finish this during the summer vacation? Some of the teachers are okay but most of them don't take any value on helping the students succeed in the school. I am sorry but this school needs to be worked on. I will be leaving this year because of the amount of stress I am going through. Unless your child Is into military school send them here. If they are hard working students don't send them here. Don't get confused parents!

I have been a Freshman at this school in 2011. I have not enjoyed my experience here at this school. Although I must say while the academics are good. The students and some of the teachers are not. There is a lot of bullying going around. Especially if you were a Freshmen. Teachers give students homework/tests/quizzes on the same day. They do give you lunch detention although I've managed to avoid that with my time being there. Unlike in middle school. The work load was stressful. However the test scores are great. But in my case if you're a student who struggles with certain subjects and you stay and ask for help. Some teachers will not answer your question correctly or they will ignore you. Yes selective punish is true there. I have experienced that in the middle I went for all four years.

I just love it when reviews by angry parents are loaded with misspellings and poor grammar.

THIS SCHOOL IS VERY BIASED IN THEIR ENFORCEMENT OF THE DRESS CODE THEY SELECTIVELY ENFORCE IT WHICH IS NOT FAIR. MY GRANDAUGHERTS ARE NEW TO GEORGIA AND THIS SCHOOL AND THEY HAVE BEEN TARGETED AND DESCRIMINATED AGAINST. NO ONE HAS WELCOMED THEM AT ALL WHICH IS NOT THE SOUTHERN WAY.

Our experience with Eagles Landing High is not very favorable to say the least. Although the ratings are above average there is much hipe (dog and pony show) in the emphases on teacher parent communications. My experience is that one really has to push hard to get anything done and even then the ball is subject to be droped. Leadership starts from the top and in our experience it is lacking in many ways and has much room for improvement. When it comes to selective student harrasment and violance with in the school eagle landing has high ratings.

The tests scores have dropped drastically in 2 years it is no longer a school of excellence. Teachers that once were very involved in the kids seem more resistant. Teachers are less organized and mess up attendance records. In the 4 years my child has attended ELHS I have become very disappointed in a school that was #1 in our county.

I started attending ELHS in 2007 and have found it to be a 'School of Excellence.' The teachers that instruct are greatly involved in the students lives and the coaching staff is as well. These great educators help the students in ANY way necessary to make their high school experience the best it can be. The AP and Honors courses are indeed some of the most challenging courses that many students have taken and students often see their grades fall from the 'A' to 'B's' and sometimes even 'C's' due to the intensity of the courses. Under the administration of Mr. Crerie there are no longer students wandering throughout the hallways without passes and the entire school seems to be much more organinzed. We have teachers there with a passion for their subject [Mr. Leyden-US History Mr. Kirk- Language and Composition Mr. Shirley- Math etc.] which help make this school great.

I have attended ELHS for the past two years and although I have not been enrolled in other schools in the county this school has some of the best teachers and academics in the county. I take honors and AP classes and they always present me with the challenge I'm searching for. Be prepared to have several tests on the same day if you're enrolled in an honors or AP class because the point of the class is to prepare you for college. Although there is a lack of funding at the school the teachers falcaulty and students make up for the deficits.

I agree I am a parent of a middle schooler in this system. The tests do come on the same day with other homework. It is stressful. I am a twenty year veteran teacher with two students and I agree planning could be better for tests and homework . The insider parents helping is usually the same people. The Sage kindergarten gifted contain mostly politcal and influential peoples kids. The other parents didn't know they were being chosen. The gifted here do not appear to be really gifted. It seems more like its only networking. It is the commissioners kids the running for board members kid who has been on the elem. committee three times. They all live in the same neighborhoods. The concern appears to lack at the top. Eagle's Landing Middle had a supply list in Walmart in July-August. Union Grove did not.

Eagles Landing High is very challenging academically. My son has 2 honors and 2 AP class. Although I know he will be well prepared for college based on the demands and work load he receives the teachers make it hard for a student to partake in any additional school activities. Some students would like to be a part of the band clubs or athletics and this is extremely hard. Children need to be well rounded and I feel being involved with school activities makes it more enjoyable. Often my son has tests scheduled for all subjects on the same day. It would be beneficial if the teachers could work together to ensure a student isn t over loaded with all subjects. The principal is excellent with a strong push for test scores which has proven a success. School pride has resurfaced thanks to the new AD football coach & cheerleading coach.

This is a Georgia School of Excellence and in the top 5% of schools in the nation according to Newsweek. Parents don't put too much into the gripping of the students that are writing here. I have had two children to go through this school and since the new principal took over the quality of education test scores quality of teachers and the discipline are fantastic. If all continues like it is now my third child will be there too.

I am a student at ELHS and I believe that it is the worst school. All the teachers and principals are worried about is getting the students into trouble and could really care less about their education. The teachers and principals all get their paychecks so it relly doesn't matter if they are really doing what they sould be doing.

I attended Eagles Landing for my freshmen and part of sophomore year. While I was there I appreciated the education that was offered. Behavior of some students caused problems but what school doesn't have that issue. Not all students appreciate the education that can be given to them as I have noticed at Mt.Zion High School. Being there I have come to appreciate and miss the caring and learning environment of Eagles Landing. The teachers come to teach and help as well the majority of the students there are there for a purpose. We for the most part have privaleges and freedom compared to those of the school I am at now. If you won't your child to gain a great education and have teachers with leadership and support under the belts this school is for them.

I graduated from ELHS in 2004 and it was not the same school I came into in 2000. The teachers seemed to really not care if you were not in the honors or AP courses because I was in both and there was a difference. Unless you were an athlete of some sorts parent involvement was non existant. I agree when my older brother was at ELHS in the late 90s it was a great school and truly it is riding on its past accomplishments my younger brother is there now and its completely horrible. He has had multiple things stolen from him which included brand new shoes shirts and his cell phone and they wonder why fights break out its because the administration cant get their things back so the students take it in their own hands.

I am also in the class of 2009 and my view of ELHS is very grim. There is a large lack of involvement from the parents there are many teachers that just don't care about how the students act in class food is over priced the vending machines take money and they claim that they cannot do a thing about it. They supposedly have money to buy new computers but cannot afford to put dividers in the boys restrooms between the urinals. Also there is a lack of school spirit. They punish anyone that is not passing with a certain grade average(silent lunch Academic Intervention). Overall this is the worst high school I've ever attended.

i'm in the class of 2009 and this school has done nothing but go downhill for the past three years. It has absolutely no school spirit and it is not kept up at all (a lot of vandalism). Some kids will just stand out in the hall in large groups and make it very difficult for student traffic to flow. It's a very dark and depressing environment. However I do have to hand it to the math department (Mr. Shirley Mr.Shook Mrs. Forester etc.) and the R.O.T.C. department. This school has very poor-quality lunches and over-priced food as well.
