I don't go to this school but I had a friend who did. She hated the mascot cause they were the Walker "Stars" which really isn't a good mascot. I went there for summer camp. It had no doors but nice vibrant colors. If t didn't have colors maybe I meant a different school.

Walker is one of the top elementary schools in McKinney. The staff is not only knowledgeable but friendly and somehow is able to recall most of the parent's names as well as the kids. It's a tight-nit community and school and very active in regards to activities and encouragement to the students to strive for greater achievements.

We relocated from the Midwest when my son was in third grade. Walker's staff always made my son feel at home. He had a wonderful educational experience at Walker. The teachers were hand's on- and he truly benefited from the time spent at Walker.

Walker staff has responded quickly and professionally to parent concerns and provided individualized training to classes as needed. Everyone has been so supportive in such unpredictable times. The only weakness needing to be addressed is preventing the teachers who are affected from getting off track. The district has launched strategic planning and family resources in a grassroots fashion to stablize and direct resources where they are best applied or most needed.

Walker is an excellent school. The teachers are committed to the best job possible. We have had a child at Walker for 2 years and have nothing but positive things to say.
