I have been in the Hanover school district for 3 yrs. relocating from the north. I have an 8th grader who loves Chickahominy Middle School. She adores her teachers and staff. Typical middle school drama is everywhere. I feel the staff really connects to the students and make it a fun place to learn. I recommend it.

Woo-hoo! Chickahominy is super awesome. There are programs for everyone and students always get a say in everything. I never really cared about lunches (I pack) but why is everyone saying the disclipline is bad? Administration is good and I have gotten loads of good teachers.

Hey hey hey! Though CMS can get SOOO dramatic... its still pretty cool. I mean we got the best boys soccer team and my teachers are pretty AWSOME. And our lunches? Amaaaaazing. And to all you 6th graders I gotta say that the thing about 7th grade that you absolutely must remember to study! Chickahominy is and will always be "the best place to learn and achieve!!"

I am in the 6th grade i have loved Chickahominy since the first day of school. The staff is amazing and the school itself is just great. I have learned so much and l understand the concepts of each class more easily because of the teachers way of teaching the material.

Out of all Hanover County schools Chickahominy is at the top of my list. Just great no doubt about it. I have attended CMS for three years and I honestly believe my school environment has helped the difficult changes that come along with being a teenager. The teachers obviously enjoy their jobs with the kids immensely and the administration is always friendly and helpful to parents. This school works hard at promoting awareness about avoiding typical middle school problems such as bullying as well as the usual friends/social troubles. Any major disciplinary or punishment issues are few and far between and none have 'interrupted my learning environment.' In fact I'm a little confused as to why it only has a 4 star parent rating (the lunches really aren't that bad)! We strive and succeed in accomplishing our school motto every day 'To be the best place to learn and achieve!'

Chickahominy is just like any other middle school.. they all have the drama and the problems.. I have gone here since 6th grade (i'm now in 8th) administration is well.. they give you the punishment you deserve.. the office staff is amazing ) the administrative officers are pretty cool.. even though we are one of the older schools it not half bad.. CMS is pretty great

This is a great place for learning and getting through those tough pre-teen/teen years. The teachers and administrators are fantastic and truely care about the students. They along with the teachers push the students to want to do their best in the class room and beyond school. My daughter is finishing her 1st year here and has loved every moment of being a part of the CMS family!

This school is definitely one of the best schools in Hanover. Hanover county schools are some of the best schools in the state and everybody knows that.

I just wanted to say that the drama and music departments are phenomenal. I was in the school musical this year and I had so much fun! The people involved are wonderful. I reccomend this school to any student. Not just because of the musical but because of several things. Especially gymnastics! Last year we were undeafeted!

I went to Chickahominy for all three years and it is the best school ever. No it doesn't have the most gorgeous building (it is way above average though and well maintained) and no it doesn't have the best lunches but that doesn't matter. The school still beats the other schools (oak knoll (especially) liberty and stonewall jackson by a lot. This school has an amazing principal who knows what she is talking about. The education is very high (as it is at neighboring atlee high which is in the top 1000 schools in the country. This school has great teachers and smart kids (discipline is very good here there are no fights no misbehaving what-so-ever) and there is zero tolerance for horseplay. I would recommend this school to anyone because everyone fits in at Chickahominy.

I don't think there are discipline issues. But there does need to be better lunches.

This is a wonderful school!! But it could use better food.

This school has a problem with disipline from my experience. And the school lunches need to be a bit more diverese. The school I attend now has a far more better lunch exceeding anybody's expctations. They have options for vegans and others whereas this school only has two choices yougurt and salad. the staff here is quie exceptional if you ask me. ( except in the displanary areas)

Academics at this school are good but discipline is an area of weakness. Students who are repetitive behavior problems do not receive enough punishment by administration and continue to interrpt the learning environment at the expense of other students. Parents are extremely involved. PTA program is excellent.

The school need to be more diverse and childerns need to be tought to accept different etnicity. Also school lunch needs great improvement. Comparing to Northern VA schools I would rate this school 'poor' overall.
