My son went there and it was a struggle to get him extra help after numerous tries since he has a ADD problem. The math was excellent reading good they set the bar too high for Spanish and most kids don't keep up and my son was confused by the assignments. They favor certain kids that do well and the others that need more help don't get it and are outshined. Last year at the graduation they give the same kids all the awards and embarrass the other kids and parents. I hope they change this practice it demeans half the class.

This school teaches to the test. The bar is raised so high that most of the families hire private tutors just for their kids to keep up. And thus the test scores look so good. If your child is middle of the road (especially boys) he will end up turned off to learning have low self-esteem and hate school by the time he leaves for high school. Young children who enter in 5th grade are stressed out. There are some very good teachers but the 5th grade is not managed appropriately and the young kids suffer.

My daughter just finished her fifth grade year and it was fantastic. The new principal is fabulous involved and has a no-nonsense approach that keeps the kids in line but is very caring. Language Arts math science all very strong. The district is led by a dynamic involved and intelligent superintendent. You could not ask for more from a public middle school.

This school is an overall very nice acedemically well rounded school. Besides the art department Mr. Geisel is a very good principal and the teachers are good. The 8th grade social studies teacher is outstanding.
