Arizona's Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS)

In 2011-2012 Arizona's Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) was used to test students in reading and mathematics in grades 3 through 8 and 10, writing in grades 5, 6, 7, and 10, and in science in grades 4, 8 and 10. AIMS is a standards-based test, which means that it measures how well students have mastered Arizona's learning standards. Students must pass the grade 10 AIMS in order to graduate. The goal is for all students to meet or exceed state standards on the test.

Ignorance abounds. Expect staff affiliated with this school to make incorrect assumptions based on their lack of knowledge and understanding of their students' situations. Heavy bias and discrimination found at this school. Lack of communication and a strong persuasion to remove parental involvement during these critical formative years.

Unfortunately in the last year the high school has really diminished in quality. They lost 30 plus teachers last year and the couple good administrators they had. Very sad to see it tank so badly so quickly. New leadership needs to take over at the superintendency and then the high school. Hard to do when the school board has a member related to the high school principal who is a main part of the problem.

Worst High School Ever! This school has teachers and administrators with very little integrity! Its poorly managed and I wouldn't recommend it to any one who wants their child to have a good High School experience. I had 2 children enrolled here and it was awful. My son played sports and my daughter was involved with several student programs. Find a different school You'll be glad later!

Parents if your student is an athlete DO NOT SEND THEM TO QC! Politics will always be a part of High School sports but QC is the worst I have ever experienced. I was a high school athlete in the 1970's and my two older children where also HS athletes who attended high schools and played sports in Chandler Idaho and Utah. The favoritism lack of ethics and honesty is over the top at QC in multiple sports . This is not being posted by a disgruntled parent who has children that sit the bench all of my children are and have been multi sport starters. Athletics at QC are bad really really bad.

I am very disappointed with this school I would give it an overall rating of below average from the education to the athlectics through the administration. This school has provided less than what I want for my children in all areas. There is a lack of professionalism and character as well as ethics honesty and consistancy from several of the faculty staff and administration. I do have to say that there are some good teachers here and the overall student body is average or above but that is heavily outweighed by the negative environment and unwelcomed biased attitude exhibited by faculty and staff. I would not reccommend this school or athletic program to any parent.

Nov 6 2012. Great story about the students at QCHS! Impressive kids! I hope the school board parents & local government take notice and recognize all of those students! JSM Seattle WA

I attended Queen Creek Middle School and then High School until my sophomore year. At this point I could not stand the way my teachers taught (or the lack of teaching at all) the politics within the sports teams among coaches and the lack of college preparation. I switched to Perry High School and had an amazing junior and senior year with teachers who caused me to be engaged in my learning and was enrolled in the AVID program there. I wish parents could attend QCHS for one day and see the miserable conditions and lack of administration.

My personal experience with QCHS was wonderful. I attended all four years at this high school without complaint. I felt connected with my teachers and classmates and was able to participate in several extracurricular activities. I began collage the fall after graduation and managed to graduate with two bachelor degrees and my masters degree by age 22 this largely in part to the several dual credit classes QCHS offered at the time. My experience at Queen Creek was back when the school was 3A and had a smaller class size which could have contributed to my positive experience. My brother who recently graduated felt he had a positive experience as well despite having been less engaged in academics and extracurricular activities.

QCHS is a wonderful school filled with caring and qualified professionals. My child has only been attending this school for one semester and I have seen much more improvement/self confidence. He participates in the wonderful FFA program and most of his teachers take the time to work with him after school as well. I think QCHS has a lot to offer in the perfoming arts department as well as the athletic department. I highly reccommend if you are looking for a smaller environment with an excelling staff/community.

Im currently a senior at this school and contrary to what other people are saying I think it's an awesome school. I run track and cross country and I think that both programs are awesome (4A-1 state champs!). Some of the teachers are a little off but the rest are generally very good teachers. They are kind of strict about wearing id's and dress code but otherwise are pretty lenient.

Queen Creek High School is alright. I currently attend there and the students are very nice for the most part. The administration is a joke its very strict for the most part and because of this a lot of students don't really know what the ' high school' experience is. There is NO school spirit what so ever! the sports programs are not even announced. its pretty boring to tell you the truth. On the plus side there's not really any 'cliques' and for the most part people accept one another.

Queen Creek is a terrible place for a child to be educated if you can call it that.

My daughter has been excelling at this school and is involved in several extra-curricular activities. The sports program is wonderful from what we know of the one sport she participates in. I would recommend a more unified teaching for classes she had to switch teachers for 2nd semester and was quite behind for the new teacher.

Terrible school system that exemplifies AZ as the 47 worst school system in the US. My only regret in moving is this school system. Some teachers are good some are horrible as with any school. Not enough books for the students very poor quality of teaching in my opinion. However the run around when trying to speak to anyone in administration is ridiculous. No real supervision of students so children are getting hurt.
