As a parent I would like to say those who think that the staff and office personnel at Redland Elementary don't care or don't know what they are doing should take their kids somewhere else.

Love the school and the reason I chose this school for my son to attend was that I found out that the staff members also have children that attend and I figured that the school must be good. By the way I have no problems volunteering for fieldtrips and field day. I just went to the office to sign up as a chaperone. The school is locked for the safety of the children that is what I heard. I asked it's amazing what you learn when you ask.

Redland elementary is in need of a new principal thats not afraid to lead. We need teachers that are professional there are to many teachers that have family that all work together at this school this causes lots of problems this school needs to be cleaned up starting with the third grade teachers.

The office staff is snotty rude and does not know what they are doing. The disorganization among the office staff is apparent. Theis is important because they are the first and sometimes only face of the school you will see. Some of the teachers could really care less about the kids or their safety and education. Better off virtual schooling!!! Or at least find another option. The new principal tries but it isn't enough when your staff doesn't care!!!!

Redland has been a great experience for my children. My son graduated from there last year on the honor roll and now attends a magnet school. Thanks to the care and assistance of all his teachers he was able to achieve his goal. The music teachers coached him and helped prepare him for his audition and it was a success. I am saddened by the fact that they chagned principals. Many people said negative things about her but she was ALL ABOUT THE CHILDREN. Some parents don't understand that school is not a social gathering for parents and it was becoming a problem. I witnessed it first hand. My two other children are attending there now and thanks to my involvement and caring teachers my children are excelling. Thank you Redland Elementary.

This school is awful and that is being nice. The administration and teachers (especially a certain 3rd grade reading teacher) could care less about the students much less about the parents. It seemed all we ever got was negative feedback and when we asked for help all they threw at us was stuff involving the FCAT. No parent involvement and a closed door policy. It is so hard to get in and just observe the classrooms. All they care about is getting the FCAT passed. Isn't it funny how they are no longer an A+ school. Can't wait for this school year to end and be done with that school. My recommendation to anyone thinking about sending their child there is think again. Especially for the 3rd grade. My son use to love school when we lived in Virginia and would come home with a smile on his face but now all he does is ask to stay home. Not the type of experience you want your child to have because it lowers their confidence and self-esteem. A big thumbs down to this school.

Neeeds a principal that is not afraid of any ethnic group aqnd who cares truly cares about the school and the student in it. Her attitude is she can not tell the Teachers how to run thier class. Well then who can? Lot of Teacher abseentism. My experience was a wonderful kindergarten Teacher and then the teacher from he!! for first grade. She could care less and does not work with you. Seems she really hates being a teacher. What a shame. What really has happened to the school. How can one school have Principal who doesn't care and the Asst. principal is just counting her days unitl retirement so neither one wants to be bothered with something as silly as your childs education. My last review disappeared fromt hsi site. Lets see if this one stays.

Terrible school no parents are allowed to be involved in anything. Teachers don't even seem happy here anymore many want transfers don't blame them look at the principal they moved in. Not impressed anymore used to be great school that I was very proud that my children attended enjoyed helping the teachers field day anything that they neede help in. Not anymore the spaghetti dinner proved that alot of people are unhappy here hardly any attendees compare to all the previous years there wasn't even room to seat. Sorry but I have to give it a bad rating.

Have had 4 kids in theis school since 2001. My last child has attended here since 2006 have always been involved with school activities fcat rally christmas shows christmas valentine parties and field day. This year I have not been able to help out in any thing the PTA staff has been very rude the PTA president only lets friends help out and no one else volunteers are only allowed thru the pta. The principal has been another problem my child is terrified of her witnessing her screaming at a teacher and seeing the teacher actually crying is scared that she'll be treat the same way. We do not scream at eachother at our home we respect one another She gives dirty looks to children and is very cold. Not a friendly person. The staff and teachers have been great. I am very dissapointed this year. many parents agree bad school.

I have been here fore the last 7 yrs has been a great school they have gone thru some pricipals but this year 2009-2010 I shall say is the worst principal she does not respect parents or student is very rude and nasty I am one of many many parents that are very unhappy with the treatment we get. No parent involvement not welcomed. Have never been able to see my son perform parents are not allowed. I know close campus is suppose protect kids but I am not a bad person I am a loving honest good person who remembers my own mother being at my school and loved having her there to help she was very involved pep rally shows what ever but this school does not have anything to offer very dissapointed. In the past I was very welcomed by the great staff of teachers and office

Not happy with school this year. They moved a new Principal in and made it closed campus And she is Very Nasty to the parents..Not very friendly at all...They have had so many cut backs that it has effected the school...And all they seem to care about is that the students are wearing there uniform Instead of worry about how the child is doing in school. They dont alow any parent envolement in the school at all.!! Not right!!

We have been at Redland now for 4 years. I was involved in the PTA all last year. We get a new principal and what do you know everything changes there is no more teacher parent contact its like it is forbidden. We can no longer have lunch with our children due to the new principal. I dont get it I was involved all last year and loved it but now we arent allowed to be involved in our childrens education. Parent Involvement is like a no no. I am moving my kids to a new school where there is Parent Involvement

I have had my 2 kids at this school since 2005 and liked the staff teachers. PTA involvement. Parents interaction with the students in the past. This new year starting off for the 2009 - 2010 year is another story 1. Came to eat lunch with my daughter as I have done in the past and was told that is not allowed anymore. New Rule no having lunch with children. 2. Parents are not allowed in the school anymore how are parents supposed to have parent teacher relationship Guess they do not want parents willing to know and have ineractions with the school or teachers. New Rule no interaction with teachers parents shouldn't care just drop off and leave. 3. PTA/School Store store is not open daily as it was last year everyday it was nice for my kids to run into the store and get what was needed for classes.

My daughter has been at Redland for 2 years now. She is getting straight A's and was even considered for the Gifted Program. I am very pleased with Redland's curriculum and how they are very involved with the children as well as the parents. Thumbs up to Redland!

My child went to redland elementry for two years for kindergarten and first grade (2004&2005). He loved it there. He had an excellent teacher. Parents are encouraged to be involved. Excellent school.

My nefews' parents had been sent to Iraq and he and his sister were sent down here to live with us. With all fairness when he came down here he was already below grade level he had barely learned his colors but Redland didn't offer any extra help for his situation. I know that these were not normal circumstances and for all I know this is a great school for average students but I was not impressed and My own children will not be attending.

My childrens teachers have been very caring. The curriculum has seemed to be good. Do wish they would go back to the rote math--not many schools do that any more though.

My two daughters are in Redland Elementary in my opinion this is a great school I am very pleased with the teachers the staff and especially I feel that my girls are in a very safe environment.
