'My daughter struggled with math up until she started going to Minersville Elementary school. Right away they gave her extra math help. I am proud to say she is going into the 6th grade and her math skills have improved so much. My son was placed into the developmental Kindergarten class this past year and his teacher was the BEST . He has learned so much she helped him come out of his shell. He will be going to regular kindergarten this year and I am fine with that!

My daughter struggled severly in math and their idea of helping her was putting her in a 'special' math class where she took tests that she only had 5 minutes to complete. Timed tests for struggling math students is NOT appropriate. We were new to the school district and the second week there she was given a spelling test of ALL the teachers names in the school and they had to identify if they were married or not 'Ms. Miss. Mrs.' She got an 'F' on the test and I had to complain to the principal to have the test grade be omitted. I felt her teacher always picked on her and degraded her in front of her classmates after that point for the rest of the year. We have now relocated her to a different school and she is getting straight 'A's' and doing advanced math.

I have found that this school really has its focus on the state standards for the children that attend. Also they are eager to help support a child that is struggling with there academics with access to additional testing to see if the child qualifies for additional help in certain subjects. The facility are very open to and enjoy parent feedback and also very much appriecate parent volunteers within the school setting. This has made it a joy to know that if I have concerns regarding my children's education or other situations that occur while attending school I can speak to someone regarding this matter and have it taken care of promptly.
