Having had one child graduate from jarvis and another almost entering the sixth grade. I have to say if I had known then what I know now I would have home schooled from day one. I feel that there are not alot of opportunities for gifted children and a lack of support or recognition of childs needs that work below grade level. It is sad to say that I feel that the childs interest is not always at the core of what the school does.

I had concerns with my son's grades the first part of this school however the teacher was more than helpful with helping us!
I agree with the lack of programs for advanced and gifted students but plenty of support services available to those below grade level or in need of special services. We need to remember the kids who are advanced are bored by the repetition of drilling the same information over and over for the students who just 'don't get it'! There needs to be some advanced opportunities.
My son started very badly this 1st quarter 2 F & 1 D although his other courses were B's. The teachers have made a great effort to help him raise his grades with more one on one help.
Not too much for the gifted students but plenty of support services available to those below grade level or in need of special services.
This school has a good reputation however I have had a lot of problems with them. If you have patience the school is okay if you need anything else I wouldn't recommend this school for you.
