This school has been a great school for my four children. My fourth grader is an advanced reader and they offer special classes for that which is keeping her advanced. My second grader had trouble when he was in kindergarden and they also have a program where they offer extended day kindergarden at no charge. That put him as an advanced student also. My kindergardener is advanced as well because she attended the pre-school program there at the elementary which my youngest is now attending pre-school there. She will have the advantage of getting 2 years of pre-school before she begins kindergarden. The programs are wonderful for the elementary students. I like that all grades are together so that when I have to go get my kids in the future they are all together. The traffic isn't bad either because every thing is staggered times. I love this school.

Monroe Elementary is a great school! The teachers are all great. My daughter truly enjoys going to school everyday. I would recommend this school to anyone.
Although the school disctrict is only 4 years old it has made great strides in Academic Excellence. Over all the elementary school offers a good foundation for children entering Mid level and High school. Academically it offers a well rounded curriculum for elementary children. In the past three years it has offered one class each day focusing on physical education science music and art. However this year (2005-2006) it has dropped the special 'Science Day' weekly due to a shortage of sufficient staff to man it. The school currently has over 950 children K-6 (with more than 70 new students added this year). The school is growing quickly with the rapid growth of housing within the community. Subsequently the average class size has gone up. HOWEVER the test scores for the 3rd grade far exceeded the state standards. They one weakness is in art and music - they ard working on this.
Monroe School district is very student and parent oriented. Parent involvement is extremely high. Response from personnel including the Superintendent is very good. I have always received a timely response to any question or need. All activities are available in sports art music etc. We are a small growing community and the community itself is involved in many aspects of education and sponsorship. My son became eligible this year for the Advanced Learning Program for Students. (ALPS) We are very excited about the school year. The school complex is brand new and the elementary junior high and high school are in the same complex. A brand new stadium is being built and the high school has a collegiate size gym. Very nice. We love Monroe!
