California Standards Test (CST)

In 2011-2012 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.

My son has been going to Ridge Crest since Kindergarten and the staff has always been so helpful and nice. I would never change my son from this school.

Both of my children have attended Ridgecrest... I have been through two principles Mr. Hamilton and now Mrs. Emmanuel both are great principles and the teachers at this school are great. I love Ridgecrest and I hope the parent volenteer stay as involved as they have been in the past.

I have been extremely happy with this school for my children this year. The teachers are wonderful breaking the kids up into appropriate learning groups and using a 'team teaching' technique to give each child lessons at their own personal learning level. Even at the kindergarten level the children are encouraged to read and learn at their highest personal level. The parents help out a lot as well which helps trememdously. I would choose this school over any other.

This is a wonderful school that has lots of parent involvement. The principal faculty and teachers are very supportive of the parents involvement and encourage accademic success especially its reading program. 4th graders can begin the guitar club provided by Mr. Brooks on a volunteer basis. This school is an overall success with a diversified student body.

Ridge Crest is very good school with very good teachers. My child absolutely enjoys his exerience there. The only problem I have with Ridge Crest is the fact that they bus childern from outside the area which results in overcrowding and children who live in the area cannot attend. Two of my children had to be bused out to attend another school
