California Standards Test (CST)

In 2011-2012 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.

Graham middle school is the best middle school I can ever imagine. During the first week of school we focus on the five essential elements; do no harm together we can I belong take pride and peruse knowledge. We learn to interact with the other grades in home team and meet new people in our grade team. The teachers are usually strict to a little tough. Mrs Hoyer is the 6th grade social studies teacher and she does her job VERY well and prepares us for high school-while telling us stories about when she was young. Mr Mulkey and Mr Alberts are very kind but Mr Alberts does not take late work. I think it's good because students learn to turn things in on time. Ms Morrison is an amazing and kind teacher. This school has the BEST girls basketball team ( 6th grade ) ever. I am on it and we have been undefeated thanks to experienced players ( like me ) of the year 2013-2014. This 6th grade team will also still be amazing if the best players are still at Graham for 7 and 8 grade. Me harter is an amazing PE teacher. In general this school is amazing and nothing can ever be as lovable as Graham.

The education at the school is great the teachers know what they are talking about when they teach it but there is a lack of actual discipline during most classes and when interrupted most teachers will engage the disturbance for most of the class instead if simply sending them outside. But teachers all have great personalities and are fun to be around when your around them and they all will help you pass with good grades.

The teachers of Graham MIddle School are either strict or relaxed but if you don't follow their rules they will be ver strict. They are there to teach you some of the principles that will be required for high school and onwards in life. For example one of the teacher told us to take noted ahead of time so when she would give us notes we would only add extra thing we missed. That made a change. On the CST I've received Advance something that I've never had in Science. In addition it helps you stay focus in class. The teacher maybe tough or relaxed but they willing to teach you if you are willing to them.

Being a student that attended Graham I felt as though its worm hospitality and brilliant teachers really propelled my academic career to new heights. One part of Graham that made the difference to me was the teachers. They really enjoyed teaching and helping students like myself find themselves more in such a awkward time in our young lives. Over all my experience there was good and I feel proud to be a Graham alumni.

Graham was a great school. It had excellent extracurricular programs such as an opportunity for students to tour the East Coast an outstanding music and musical program and one of the best live student-student run announcements on TV. The teachers at Grahams are all wonderful individuals. Most if not all participate in programs after school like the East Coast trip or coaching sports teams or zero period classes. The administration at Graham is friendly and helpful but is not the best organized. It also is not focused as one would hope. An interesting fact about Graham is its absence of a bell curve. Students either excel or fail. When all is considered Graham is a good all around school.

Graham is a overall good school. THere are plenty of things to do. There is band spanish singing and they are all challenging in ther eown way. There has been some talk that there are drugs and other but its pretty much gone. This school is lovely and i would suggest going there. Some people say that this school is not as good as the others but don't judge a book by it's cover.

Graham Middle School is a great school. Every teacher has their own individual style. What you need to be successful is to be on that teachers good side. If you are quiet when needed and you do your homework i guarantee your teacher will like you. Every teacher at Graham strive to reach their goals which is to pass every single one of their students and teach them as much as possible. I to was an alumni at Graham and itsjust really great to have come from there because the last month of school every 8th grade teacher does everything they can to tell you everything you need to know about high school. I have learned a lot at Graham and i'm happy i went there.

Graham is a school where the teachers want the students to succeed. Graham is a school where you know you are safe

My experience from the school coming as a recent graduate was definitely sub-par. The principal is nice and seems to be able to work effieciently but never gets anything done problem-wise. The campus is nasty with trash and graffitti everywhere. The students are mostly okay but there has been non-gang-related violence before. Graham recently created a new program called Essential Elements that basically is a code of conduct for the school. They use a whole week of school time trying to teach kids to follow this code focusing on 1 new "element" every day for a total of 5 elements over 5 days. Certain teachers have given out gratuitous aounts of homework unproportional to homework the following year where the teacher had assigned almost no homework at all leading to general confusion from frustrated parents. They have almost no bullying protection as well. The teachers even presented with concrete evidence they do not resolve the matter but ignore it. Graham Middle School gets 2 out of 5 stars for poor teaching and not preparing students for the coming years of high school.

Graham Middle School helped students prepare for highschool with their teachers and staff. Most teachers are good at helping students learn at their own pace and prepare for highschool.

My time at Graham was a good one. Over the past year the changes made by the new principal have gone a long way toward improving the school's climate. Students are trusted to make good decisions and when they do are rewarded with more freedom. The teachers are supportive and want you to succeed and the students help support each other. There may have been issues with bullying but I have never experienced any and I believe it to be fairly rare. Overall Graham is a happy diverse and supportive learning environment and a wonderful community.

Graham has teachers that do their best in teaching and helping students and as a graduate I felt like it prepared me for high school. Also there were no problems involving gangs or fights that I heard of. Graham prepares students for their future.
