The staff of this school tends to be very positive however after many visits I am disappointed in the lack of academic rigor and especially the lack of a comprehensive reading language arts program. Teachers do not use standards based materials for reading but rather a locally put together set of materials and teachers are left on their own to create much of the reading and writing curriculum. The results of this are reflected in the fact that with one exception all grades are performing below the state average in reading. It would be a progressive move for the district to adopt an organized comprehensive standards based reading program. In addition the total curriculum should be evaluated with an eye on creating a rigorous college bound focus.

The teachers principal parents and all the staff are very involved in the children s learning. You can walk into our school and talk to anyone and see how much they care about the well-being of your children. It is in a wonderful safe happy community where your children can learn and grow without all the worries of big city life.
