Students must take at least five Regents Exams in order to graduate. Scores of 65 and above are passing; scores of 55 and above earn credit toward a local diploma (with the approval of the local board of education). The goal is for all students to pass the tests.

Banneker is great ... I am currently a freshman at Banneker and I can honestly say its amazing. the teachers care and make it easy to keep up with your grades and offer plenty of oppurtunities afterschool if you do not understand. They help prepare us for the regents and I was able to take 3 January regents thanks to their help. GREAT SCHOOL !!

I haven't exactly started going here yet. I literally just got the acceptance letter a few hours ago. From what everyone else here is saying and from when I first went to visit this school I think it seems good enough. I REALLY hope I enjoy my time here!

As a 2009 graduate from Benjamin Banneker Academy I must say that my teachers and taking advantage of the AP courses offered has prepared me well for college. Now a junior pursing my BA degree I often look back on what I learned in high school and I must say this school really is great all around.

I am a Freshman this year. I thought these reviews were lies but when I entered Banneker I realized that they were true. The teachers really care and it just feels like one big family. The seniors are not mean to younger students. Everybody basically get along.

My Daughter Is now A senior in This School and she has really enjoyed her time the teachers have such a "one on one" with parents and students about their academics for the most part. They also encourage the students to strive for whatever they feel will make them successful in the future. I love it

I love this school! My daughter started this year and has adapted very well. All of the teachers and staff are engaged and show great concern for the childrens learning. In addition their are a great deal of extracurriculer activities. Parents are involved and the principal is really excellent!

This is my first year at this school and I love it because the atmosphere is great and once you get to know people it's like a family. I can't say all because I don't know all teachers but most really care and will work with you to make sure you have clarification and understanding on a particular topic. We are a community so if one fails we all fail.

This is my daughters first year at the school and for a freshman has made such a transition from middle school to high school without any problems. The teachers are pretty much responsive to the parents inquiries and the work seems to be on par. Overall it's a great school with a great atmosphere.

I go to this school and I would have to say that teachers in this school really seem to care. This school is more of a family rather than a school. We have our differences but in the end we always manage to work things out

I currently attend benjmin banneker. Im a jr. I can truly say it has changed my view on life and has taught me many things. Our principle mr.Rocks iz leaving this year but is leavin the school in good hands. There is no place you can find where its easy to know every one and the tearchers will always be there to listen to you even if you hardly know them. My experience at banneker for the past two years has been amazing. I'm proud to attend this school and there isnt a place better or that I'd rather be at.

Incredible school with caring teacher and a history of success your child would be fortunate to do all four years in Banneker and then forever be part of the Banneker family.

A great school located in the Downtown Brooklyn area of New York City. The instructors will motivate your child beyond their wildest dreams. A multicultural setting where academic excellence is encouraged and expected. Especially in the Sciences and Math. Although students begin their day at 8 15 AM - students can attend school from 7 00 AM till 7 00 PM depending on their choices in extra circular activities. They have a great a Music Dept Dance Instruction Poetry & sports to keep your child busy. Parents feel very motivated to support the school due to the great feeling of community you experience in the school. The staff is professional and courteous. They are always ready to help your child help his or herself towards excellence.

This is my son's second year. I find that the quality of the academic program excel my expectation. The school really offer their student a chance not only to get better grades but they always encourage them to participate in after activities. I have great regards to the PTA as they have kept in close contact of the activity occuring at the school.

small school with small class sizes. teachers show genuine interestv i education.

Although Banneker provides a good education for its students the administration can be somewhat unorganized in terms of distributing report cards and keeping up with student records.

Benjamin Banneker provides a comprehensive course of study and acquiring the knowlegde and skills kids need to adapt to society. Students will be ready for the world and all the resonplity that it holds it also lets the kids meet people who may very well change their lives. this school is one of the best schools around if you are looking for a school to put your children or child.
