Regents Exams (RE)

In 2011-2012 New York used the New York State Regents Examinations to test high school students in English language arts, math, global history and geography, US history and government, living environment, chemistry, earth science, physics and several foreign languages. The results for English language arts, math, living environment, chemistry, earth science, physics, global history and geography, and US history and government are displayed in GreatSchools profiles. Students must take at least five Regents Exams in order to graduate. Scores of 65 and above are passing; scores of 55 and above earn credit toward a local diploma (with the approval of the local board of education). The goal is for all students to pass the tests.

My child likes the school. My child auditioned for another performing art within the school and decided to join the band and I really feel my child is putting limitation on herself. The band instrustor is great but not getting support from Administration within the school and I feel that is going to hinder the H.S. students from advancing or getting opportunities they should.

Ever since my daughter transfer from International Studies to bhsmt her grades has jumped from fifties and sixties to eighties and nineties. Her attitude towards school has change drastically and she applies herself more. She has made good judgment choosing her friends and she tells me that she loves her school very much and should I move to Pennsylvania as planned she will die.
