Graduated from this school in 2002. It was always a well rounded school that showed it's students about public service and in fact a requirement in order to graduate. This year is the 20th anniversary of the school. East Brooklyn Congregations High School for Public Service Bushwick in fact had trips to one of the churches that helped create the school we celebrated Women's Day and we had over night trips to get the students to bond. Yes like all schools there were fights but not many.

new student attending school in 2013 2014 year. looking forward to what the school has to offer. Hoping some of the reviews are incorrect.

This is a struggling school now. It is placed on the SINI list but they have instituted a tutoring program for Math and English. The problem is that EBC now has to let anyone in and can no longer be selective hence you have a lot of students that are not educationally equipped for high school. On the other hand it is still a 'safe' community school and in NYC that is also important for your child to be safe. The teachers are very qualified and the Special Ed Program is up to date. Caring staff and teachers who strive to get the students focused and on the right educational goal/track.

this school seemed to be the right school for my child but I think there is a problem their should be more parents invoveld in.

The debate program at EBC is excellent. The principal is enthusiastic and cares about the students. I was impressed with the level of excitement for learning at EBC and the charisma of the kids.
