Regents Exams (RE)

In 2011-2012 New York used the New York State Regents Examinations to test high school students in English language arts, math, global history and geography, US history and government, living environment, chemistry, earth science, physics and several foreign languages. The results for English language arts, math, living environment, chemistry, earth science, physics, global history and geography, and US history and government are displayed in GreatSchools profiles. Students must take at least five Regents Exams in order to graduate. Scores of 65 and above are passing; scores of 55 and above earn credit toward a local diploma (with the approval of the local board of education). The goal is for all students to pass the tests.

I'm a freshman at FHHS and so far its great! I'm in the Carl Sagan program and it reallyy challenges me to learn more study more and try my best. There's a lot of students in the school but the different school sessions make things a bit easier. The teachers that I have seem to enjoy teaching and most are passionate about passing down their knowledge of the subject to their students which is greatly appreciated. Although the process of buying lockers and gym uniforms has become a big hassle since the school store has apparently closed. It has already been more that a week and I'm still struggling to buy my things even though I try to go get them everyday!

Worst school ever! You don't get to play in the gym during lunch way too many rules. They actually teach for about 20-30 mins because the teachers have to take attendance and check homework. They don't care who leaves the school or anything. I wouldn't even come here but my parents are forcing me.

I Just Graduated from Forest Hills High and it was the best 4 years of my life because you meet the greatest teachers and you'll have friends who will stick with you through out high school. But my family is the music department! Those guys up there know how to have fun and teach at the same time! and if you're into music/singing/playing an instrument the music department is the best place to be!

The people! Sure its a big school but thats what keeps things fresh & interesting. The teachers actually enjoy their own subjects & don't do things just because they have to. You can meet someone new every other day & become really great friends with them.
