It doesn't mater how good is the school if someone don't want to Learn nobody can force them to learn. In one my opinion school is really good because students get a lot of chances to learn and learn things that they won't have to pay for.

My name is kathie... I graduated from grover cleveland in 1979. I think it was a great school to attend. I took up art fencing and track.
Grover Cleveland is an average high school when it comes to education. I think the city can do more to be involved with the quality of teachers it hires plus the school lacks funding.
Lot's of additional help parents principal guidance always available.
Grover Cleveland can provide amazing opportunities for students. The school is a safe place for all students. Since the school requires students to go through metal detectors before entering everyone feels safer and can be assured that they will not be assaulted with any weapons. When I was attending GC I was enrolled in the math and science program. The school offers many advanced classes and AP courses for students who qualify. Personally I benefit from all these courses and with the help of D. Scarola (Principal) and Iris Rosario (Guidance counselor) I was able to graduate in 3 years and was accepted to numerous universities. D. Scarola is an amazing principal who does everything in his power to make GC the best it can be. He is an amazing person who has helped me numerous times. I am thankful for everything he has done for me and GC.
Worst mistake i made let me tell you. This school is very unorganized.
I think this school is really good. You can really succeed in it if u want!
I'm a teacher at Grover Cleveland H.S. and I love it my eperience here. Most of the parents and students here certainly said it correctly on this site that because of the size of our school students will learn and get a great education 'if they want to'. Most students here are enrolled to do just that and will be rewarded by their teachers and future colleges. The few that are only here for a few periods and later cut will only regret it in the future.
My daughter is graduating in June and I couldn't be happier. I know she has received a very good education in fact attending college with full scholarship. I know when I look at her SAT scores compared to the rest of the country - she definitely got a good education. Her lowest score was in the 87th percentile. Grover Cleveland with there honors classes and AP classes helped her get there. For the student that indicating its a prison - the school is safe. Cutting is minimal and if you dont belong you can't get in. Those arrested outside the school were doing something they shouldn't be doing. Students can succeed at Grover Cleveland if they want to they will fail just as easily if they choose that route.
My son has earned college credits. I'ts a great High School. I would recommend anyone to enroll there kids in this school.
horrible school its like a prison for children that want to succeed and they aren't allowed to gradute without getting arrested
I graduated from Grover Cleveland High School and this school is amazing! I am now attending university with a full scholarship! The school is nothing like what it's made out to be. The kids are for the most part friendly. The teachers are also amazing and they give so much of their time and effor to help us with everything. I had an excellent college advisor who helped me with the entire college process.
i attended grover cleveland for four years from 2001 to 2005 and i can say that it was the best experience there i learned to e a leader there i learned to be something now im in college and i will never forget my school and the great professors remember one thing the students are the ones that make the difference.
im a student attending grover cleveland and i can say its a very great school. when i first attended the school i was afraid. but after i felt very comfortable. the teachers are great and the student are really nice. but one thing that wasent great was the hall ways were always crouded and it was hard to get to class on time and students would always get in trouble and scanning was a big deal i would always come to school early to make it to scanning to make it on time to class. but the scanning would take so long for no reason and the kids would always get in trouble to comming late to class even though it wasent our fault. but overall the school is great..
My oldest daughter attended this school a few years ago; & I feel that this is a very bad school for our prospering teens. the kids in this school needs more attention then what they are being given by the faculty; accademicaly and as well as in other areas.
This school is excellent! I have sent all of my 4 kids to this school! This school is amazing
I came to the USA 2 years ago and my parents didn't know much about schools in NYC that's why I went to Grover Cleveland... But I graduated from this school a year ago and I went to a private and prestigious college in NYC! I got a scholarship because I was a good student in Grover Cleveland. All I can say is that if your child really wants to learn something he will! There are many after school activities and college courses offered in this school but those who don't like school don't even know about it... and the most important thing is that your child can get the same education or even better than the one in a private high school and for free!
It's a good high school and the teachers are great but the students give the school a bad reputation. Therefore I think Grover Cleveland is a great school and i go to that school. I am making the best out of what the school offers me. It offers help afterschool afterschool programs teams to join and it has a lot of great stuff for kids.
I was very disappointed when I learned that the selection process for HS changed in 2004 and that my daughter's 11th choice was where she would spend the next four years. However after attending parent orientation and speaking to some of the teachers especially the assistant principals for departments I found that each child counted. My daughter is not 'lost' in the crowd. I am part of the educational process my concerns are not only heard but they actually listen! I am given feedback as requested/needed in addition to report cards. Although the school is large my daughter's needs were quickly identified. I have developed trust and now truely respect the school's commitment towards there students. I am very thankful that my daughter attends Grover Cleveland she now has more confidence in her abilities than ever before. It just takes one teacher to make a difference. (Math/Science Program is awesome!)
This school is very easy to cut classes! The securities cant even catch up to the student and sometimes they even let them pass even though they know they cut class!
