The Principal Ms. D is second to none the teachers are commited and the friendly atmosphere in the school is the best. As a parent of two teenagers that when to different middle schools I can attest to the exellence of JBA. My third boy is a student at this school and he is in the honor roll. Kudos to all at JBA... A concern parent...

Jonas Bronck is a school with alot of potential primarily because most of the teachers and parents want their children to succeed. However the one problem area the school has at this point is the administration of the school. The principal and vice-principals of the school put on a facade of wanting teachers to grow and professionally develop yet many senior teachers have been targeted and harrrassed. This year alone the teacher turnover rate was large for a school so small. Unfortunately their is a problem when certain teachers are given preferential treatment over others. This creates a huge divide among the staff and as a teacher I can say it effects morale in a huge way. This is a good school that truly needs new leadership to reach it's full potential.

In my experience JBA is a thriving school that has blossomed in the past several years. Teachers and administrators work tirelessly to provide each scholar with an excellent education and positive middle school experience. Leadership and professional opportunities are abundant at our school and thankfully we are moving in an extremely positive direction. Much of our success comes from the support of parents whose voices are highly valued in school decision-making.

MS 228 is a great school. You'll find family friendship and most importantly the gift of wanting to learn new things ever single day. We may have up's and down's but we care about each other for good or bad. When one is down we all are but our job then is to make that person feel better. I LOVE JBA! =]

The old principal was great and the new principal is terrific also. This school really cares about every single scholar. Scholars receive lots of opportunities like the Gear Up program that get them ready to succeed in high school. JBA is a school that has a family feeling.
