Regents Exams (RE)

In 2011-2012 New York used the New York State Regents Examinations to test high school students in English language arts, math, global history and geography, US history and government, living environment, chemistry, earth science, physics and several foreign languages. The results for English language arts, math, living environment, chemistry, earth science, physics, global history and geography, and US history and government are displayed in GreatSchools profiles. Students must take at least five Regents Exams in order to graduate. Scores of 65 and above are passing; scores of 55 and above earn credit toward a local diploma (with the approval of the local board of education). The goal is for all students to pass the tests.

The reason I love PATHS is this is my daughter's 1st year and I find this school to be extremely organized and focused on one particular goal to get our children to graduate from H.S. I feel PATHS (located @ Thomas Jefferson H.S. Campus) has a bad repuation due the location (East New York) but I as a parent and many others feel this reputation will be put to rest and everyone will be wanting to come to this school. I feel like I belong there along with my daughter. The staff teachers and especially the principal make you feel welcomed at all times and are very encouraging in how we as parents can help our kids to succeed. I look forward to the next three years in this school as I am determined as my daughter is to see that day come when she walks down that aisle with her head held high and proud to know she's a graduate of PATHS. Thank you to all for your continued support and to all the parents who know that together we can make a difference.
