The comments "PS 10 is what happens when school administration teachers and parents work together to give children all they need. It's a great learning environment..." very accurately captures the ethos of this school. Our son has enjoyed IMMENSELY the 6 years there. I would recommend this school as an awesome choice for any parent whose child has a strong desire to learn and develop. I wish Ms. Scott and her team continued success.

PS 10 has it's bright spots though it's very easy for individual students to get lost in the shuffle due to it's size/bureaucracy (though some of this is the fault of the NYC DOE). I've found the parent-teacher coordinator to be unpleasant but the rest of the staff are caring and try their best and the PTA is very active.

My son was struggling w/adjusting to his new life at PS 10. When it began to influence his behavior and impact his academics the school went above and beyond to make US feel welcome. Never have I seen a school take so much interest in wanting a child to succeed. I owe his transformation to Mrs. Principal for taking such special interest and care; to Mrs. Assist. Principal for taking him under her wing; to Mr. School Counselor for his guidance & help in getting him the outside resources he needed; and his wonderful Teachers who were never "too busy" to sit down w/me. The administration & the teachers at PS 10 are true Educators. My son is in the 4th grade now & LOVES going to school. He's a changed kid. We could not be any happier.

We have been delighted with our 6 years at PS 10. The principal assistant principal and staff are amazing; the teachers are dedicated and the student body is diverse. The parents are very involved and it feels like everything an excellent neighborhood school should be.

ps10 is perhaps the best NY public school I have encountered. And with admission the way it is right now that's a lot of schools to compare against.

I can safely say we lucked out finding this school. I've currently started looking for Junior High Schools in the Park Slope area and I've attended a few workshops provided by my employer. When asked the school my daughter attends I mention PS 10 and the reactions are always positive. Even got a high five once....

This is an amazing school it is an example of a NYC Public School can be when things go right. Guided by a principal who set the tone the faculty is caring knowledgeable and dedicated. PS is an incredible learning environment and a wonderful community

I am thrilled that my son is going to PS10! He was in Kindergarten last year and is just starting first grade. His kindergarten teacher was amazing a wonderful mix of firmness and kindness. The principal and all the staff are also wonderful and their is a great sense of community with the parents. There is a terrific sense of pride that everyone has in the school and so far I cannot say a bad thing about PS10.

PS 10 thrives because of a visonary and effective prinicpal engaged and creative teachers and active support from parents. We have wonderful programs including the Metropolitan Opera Guild (every grade every year) and a diverse student body.

My son currently in the 2nd grade has continued to have a great experience at P.S. 10. His teachers have been very supportive and constantly collaborate with us to ensure that he is getting everything out of his education. The school as a whole is diverse and has a strong parent presence. He loves going to school seeing his many friends and actually has fun learning.

My son has had the most amazing experience at this school and we are sad that it is his last year. There is a love that permeates the air in this school community that makes the children happy and enthusiastic to participate in academics and non academics and a culture of kindness that is heartwarming. The dedication of the principal and staff is inspiring and contagious so family participation is natural and entusiastic. This is a school profile that should be in every community. Some of the kids are there early and stay late and you still have to drag them out (complaining) to go home. Is this a fantastic school or what!! PS10 Rocks!!

My review is of PS10 in Brooklyn NY. If you grew up in NYC and were a product of the public school system as I was back in the 60's & 70's then this school is like stepping back in time. What I mean is its an older building but it's like coming home and seeing your family. They utilize every available space to accommodate a diverse student body. Gifted & Talented mainstream physically and mentally challenged students truly share this space without prejudice. Modern touches like smart boards Apple Computer labs and an awesome music program are integrated throughout the school. The parental involvement is legendary when it comes to fundraising attending school plays and the now infamous Flash Mob. Full houses are the norm at these events. In 6 years my daughter has loved going to school almost everyday. Principal and Asst. Principal know my daughter and us by name and you honestly feel like being part of an extended family. Not many schools can create that environment year after year and for that we are truly blessed we chose PS10 to form the educational foundation of our daughters education.

PS10 Rocks! From the dedicated Principal and Assistant Principal in the schoolyard cheerleading the procession of kids into the door to the administrators and parent coordinator who work tirelessly to make sure every single child is given the best education possible this school is incredible. They understand the value of the arts in a full education and work hard to get funding for music. Their computer lab and library are without peer. My son has to walk a long way to get here vs. his zoned school but he wouldn't trade it for any other. PS10 is now being used as a model for their opera program and their security procedures are being copied by very impressed city state and federal school safety officials. Go Laura Scott! (Also the BEST PTA ever!)

My child is entering her 3rd year here and she has had a great experience at P.S. 10. She has had supportive teachers who have worked with us to make sure she was getting what she needed. She is excited to learn and looks forward to all that awaits her at this special school. The principal assistant principal faculty and parents make this a special community where our kids can experience art music science technology physical education in addition to their core learning. They go on lots of trips and neighborhood outings taking their learning outside of the classroom. Our family goes to the beautiful school library regularly. The PTA is very active and always have exciting new ideas in the works. The growing population and increased class sizes is our only major concern. I would highly recommend this school and look forward to our youngest attending next year!

I selected this school for my boys in particular out of all Park Slope elementary schools and purposefully found an apartment that was zoned for it. I made this decision after having toured 6 neighborhood schools and spoken to their administration. While they were all desirable PS 10 is the most welcoming diverse supportive of ALL kids' individual needs and inclusive of differences. Difference is a strength at PS 10 not something to be squashed and mainstreamed. The teachers are the most personable I've ever encountered (I have an 8-year old so I know who's out there by now) extremely skilled and willing to work with parents to maximize their kids' learning in the most non-threatening and creative way. The principal and assistant principal are strong warm and determined women who know all their kids and are there among them day in and day out. The parent coordinator is a gem. The school nurse treats my boys like her own. The paraprofessionals and OT/PTs are caring and skilled. The after school staff are so much fun.... We've been in this school for one year now and my boys are thriving and so am I.
