AWFUL!! Why? For starters check out the awful grammar and the lack of transitioning words displayed below Posted Jul 27 2013 Ok fist of all I'm a student so I should know more then you parents. Fist of all not all teachers r bad some r really great like most of the math teachers and the enrichment teacher is great too. And there is gossip in every school and about the bulling like I said before its in every school you parents r 2 protective Need I say more? The fact that the English teachers (to say the least) are apparently incompetent in their career in education and the proof is clearly in this poor kid's written testimony above. LOL! Most of these teachers should be embarrassed and ashamed while considering a new career in sanitation because they clearly STINK! Seriously BEWARE!

Shut it DOWN!! This school or lack of is a complete disgrace. As one disgusted parent mentioned my daughter has more gossip to share with me (from the degenerate students to the incompetent teachers and staff) then what she has learned. What can I say other than that this joke of a school is a complete dump and please if you value your child's education towards a successful future don't settle and fight for what's deserved to them because this dump will only take that away. Good luck!

BEWARE to parents thinking of sending their child/children to George V. Kirk Middle School. This school has to be one of THE WORST schools I ever had the displeasure of dealing with. The administration and staff are a joke and seem to hold no type of standard or accountability whatsoever. They are consistent when it comes to incompetency and lack of educational values. Currently they're are only 3 teachers that show any interest in the nurturing/growth of children in general. The recurring problem with bullying is just deplorable. We as parents are held responsible for every little thing our children say and do however George V. Kirk Middle School just slides on by with mediocre excuses and horrible teaching staff. For example some of the teachers are bully's too and that alone is startling and disturbing. Also to the parents and students stating that this school is being misinterpreted they are disillusional and/or lucky to get by without being stricken by the disease of a school. I have never felt as strongly about a schools performance as I do about this one. Good luck to anyone not able to get into a decent school.

AWFUL!!!! Most of the teachers there are jokes and seem to only be there for the paycheck. From doing very well up until 7th grade in this hoodlum educational (?) institution my daughter had more gossip to share with me then reporting what she has learned. What a disgrace and as for the school administrators don't let me get started on that circus act. Although one more year left in this asylum we've decided to sacrifice and enroll our kid to where the meaning of valuable education truly matters and the teachers prove that. So disgusted.

I have no idea why they are so many bad reviews about this school. My daughter is presently studying and I have no complaints.I get emails every week regarding academics and what 's going in class and child's performance. They had student portfolio where parent visit school and student shows all the classwork and academic performance and explains everything to the parent in presence of teacher after teacher gives her explanation about the child. It is nice that parents know ans see what actually going in school.Lockers are in the classroom. After school program has lot of activities.Teachers are friendly.

The worst school my children have ever been to. My son in spec ed has literally not learned anything in the years he has been there (is at the saem reading/math leve as when entering). It is a dangerous environment. The teachers administrators and deans "talk the talk" but refuse to "walk the walk" to discourage bullying or to make changes to facilitate actual learning. Two of my children have attended Kirk; none of my other children will.

At first some of the teachers are great some it is the other 97% that just does not care the children who are bullies from wilmington are a menace toi the children who want to learn and to the teachers who can not get controll why if anyone complains they are out how else are the school distrists to get money...

the teachers are just has much of bullies as the kids who don't care. There is discrimination but the rolls have been revirced. It is a shame that a child is afraid to say anything because he or she is in fear of the teachers as well as the chilren

Hands down the worst school I have ever been in in my life. The administration were on the side of the disruptive violent and disrespectful students. I would not send my child into these facilities.

i go 2 kirk middle school and i say the school is very well with education but the safe value is very low

I go to this school & I would say it's pretty good. The teachers are very nice & supportive. Yet I do agree they should be more strict on bullying.

I think this school needs to be more strict on bullying.

I believe this school has such little parent involvement because administrators there lack open communication with parents. The diverse population is a positive and the teachers are very supportive.

I go to this school ithink it's awsome. Ecept for the Dress code

They do not properly address bullying and do not take the necessary steps to make children feel safe.

This is a pretty good middle school. It boasts a diverse student population and I think the kids who attend the school appreciate that fact. The current administration has control of everyday discipline problems and many of the kids who attend the school feel good about being there. The level of parent involvement should be better--middle school does not mean abandoning the need to advocate for your child. Also adding more extracurricular activities at this school would also be a plus.

this topic has come up again and again but why is it that there is no strict dress code in the public schools? remove the competition among the students. if everyone is dressed the same you will take away the distractions and one of the main reasons for ridicule between the students. its a first step in improving students attitudes and regaining their attention.
