My daughter attended this school for 3rd 4th and now entering the 5th grade. I am very satisfied with this school. My daughter excels and loves all of her teachers. It would be perfect if the student/teacher ratio was lower but it's still a great school communication can be a little better.

I used to be a student here before going to Bells Crossing Elementary School for second grade. Let me just say that this place was the best. I was there since Pre-K until first grade. That sadly was more than 6 years ago as I'm going into 7th grade. I miss everyone from my old teachers to my friends...
This school is by far the best school I ever been to I love this school so much and my favorite teachers where mrs hartwell mr wheeler and mrs pendergrass btw my name is Corey Simmons and all my scores are advanced and it all started at this school I'm goin to highschool this year and I'm proud to be a former student at Windsor hill
My niece Sydney loves Windsor Hill and is thriving there!!!
Both of my children attend this school and I am very proud that they go there. They are learning so much everyday. They are using tons of technology with 4 computer labs and smartboards in every room. The teachers are wonderful and very involved. They love all of the ARTS programs too! A super place to learn = Windsor Hill.
This is an amazing atmosphere for students. The arts are very strong here with two visual arts teachers two music (vocal and instrumental) one dance teacher and one drama teacher. Children are given many opportunities to learn through all modalities. There is a very strong school-wide discipline program in place with character education being its core. The children are given many opportunities to shine through the arts as well as academics! This is a great place for any child to find what they are great at!
Our neightborhood is serviced by another in the DDII district. While in first grade her teacher noted that something was not connecting with her reading skills but not to be alarmed as this was only the first grade and children learn and different levels. She was promoted to second grade where her teacher also felt there may be a learning diffrence. She was intelligent but struggled with reading. third grade was a nightmare for her she struggled through it but was so discouraged. At the advice of a resource teacher we decided to tranfer her to Windsor Hill and assigned her to a fantastic teacher who was extremely knowledgable and understood how children with learning differences learn. This teacher was able to teach to her and she actually started making the honor roll. She graduates from FDHS this year & received college letters of rec from WHES & FDHS faculty!
My daughter went to this school and was helped through everything all the way she was far behind her level and the teachers did everything to get her back on top.
I'm really disapointed with this school. When moving to Charleston we were told this was one of the better elementary schools if that is the case send your children to a private school. I believe the zoning has changed and my children aren't use to the type of children they are with. Do not attend this school
Our son has been at Windsor Hill since first grade. He is a third grader this year. After comparing fourteen schools in the area interviewing and personally visiting the top three we choose our home in this district so that he could attend Windsor Hill. Our school is a safe and happy environment for children to learn in excellence. Windsor Hill is not only a top academic facility it strives to instill and exemplify character traits that support what we are teaching at home. Every staff member is genuinely concerned with the individual child and the person they are becoming. I love to hear Where does he go to school? He is so smart. The curriculum is progressive and creates an atmosphere for learning. Open communication between teachers and parents is encouraged. The leadership at the school cannot be beat! We just need more volunteers!
