Ironton reminds me of my elementary school a "country" school where most of the families are middle class hard working people. Not rich not poor in the middle. The faculty and staff are great and there is a real community supporting the school. We have two more years. The principal Mrs Smith is retiring this year. It will be very difficult to replace her hopefully they can find someone as caring and as dedicated.

I loved going here! It's a gorgeous school where learning is a number one priority. A lovely location as well. Overall a fantastic school that is part of a very large successful school district!

Excellent teachers excellent principal!! My children attended Ironton many years back and I attribute their success to the base education they received at Ironton. Those are the most important years.

My daughter has attended Ironton since Kindergarten and is now entering her last year in Ironton Elem. this September 2009. I can only say that I've been very pleased with Ironton back when the wonderful Mr. Houck was principal and subsequently followed by Mrs. Smith who has been an excellent principal since Mr. Houck retired. Ironton Elem. has offered my daughter an exceptional education mostly evident by the Advanced scores she continually gets on her assessments and PSSA's (I take credit as her parent as well!) but also because of the helpful staff in the office the caring nurse's staff the compassionate para-educators the great specialists and everyone who has contributed to helping Ironton become the great school that it is.

We feel that the academic programs in this school district is much better than some of the other surrounding schools. Music art and sports are part of this elementary school's curriculum. There have been several special events that this school has done for families after school hours. We have found that there is a strong communication highway between the parents and the teachers. The teachers are quick to respond to questions. The parents appreciate the teachers and it shows at Ironton. The staff at Ironton have a strong dedication to the families.
