My daughter attended this school until January. The curriculum is decades behind neighboring districts like Montclair. I was told by her teacher in November that she didnt know my child's reading level because she hadnt been trained in assessments yet. The district is implementing a new reading curriculum yet only hired one staff developer to train teachers in five schools and nine grades. The only real writing they did was a month spent on Elf on the Shelf. Theres zero diversity in the staff the students spent more time copying word lists than on reading or being read to. I have an MS in Education and 13 years of experience teaching in a Blue Ribbon School and this was far from it.

I love Spring Garden school because the teachers are creative intelligent kind and know how to keep the children interested in school.. I have seen over the years how the kids come back and visit their teachers. They truly educate and encourage each child to reach their fullest potential. It is a great elementary school!
