Very happy at West. My daughter took the ACT and did wonderfully. Was told to Put my kids in private school in Fayette county but opted to try public first. So far very satisfied.

No school is with out its quirks over all I have been very pleased with West in general.

West Jr. High is a pretty decent school compared to others I've seen. I do believe the principle could tone down caring about the dress code and think about education instead. Otherwise it is a great school.

The principal follows-through on the rules makes himself available to the parents follows-up on any concerns that I present to him. I highly recommend the principal. He is always in the hallways the lunchroom the open house etc. The office staff know the parents by name and make parents feel welcome. HOWEVER the kids who attend this school have the foulest of foul language. I have been pleased with the teachers and principal and disappointed with the character of the children who attend the school. The math teacher is excellent.

This is a wonderful school with an expanding math program. The writing my child does is phenomenal with great feedback from his teachers. Compared to the local private school this school is head and shoulders above it particularly with regard to writing skills. Opportunites are available for students to excel if they choose to follow through. Any issues that have come up have been addressed promptly and fairly by the principal. The new superintendent of schools has made a big difference with an even stronger academic focus striving to achieve maximum gains for our children.

Since close observation of this school for one full year. I do not believe these scores are accurate. I also believe that the score are a bit altered to make grade. Parents who continue to send there child/children there and have a child whos potential is limiteed because of the low performance of this school should know there rights and push them.**read this article and know your rights~ good information. http //www.greatschools.org/find-a-school/school-visit/the-achievement-gap-is-your-school-helping-all-students-succeed.gs?content=35&cpn=20100622MSS (copy & paste or go to Great schools home page clock on Academics & activities then in the search enguine~ The Achievment Gap. Great School!!!! You cannot teach in a class where there is no discipline. In a controlled setting like West has teaching can be taken to its fullest potential. Great Job West Junior High!!!

we have some good teachers. one of my favorite teachers is the chorse teacher . in chorse class we need more sheet music and in band we need more instrumints. the resoni know all this is because i am in the actual chorse and you hear everything in there.

I agree with most everything that's been said thus far. Stop worrying with dress code and start worrying about 'Our' children. This is not only pointed towards the principle I'm also pointing the finger at Teachers. I will say 90% of the teachers here are GREAT but there are a select few that should NOT be teaching!

Does not have a good principle . She worry to much about little things. Dont worry about the things that should be worring about. Worry to much much about shoes- dress code than geting students to master or perform great on the necessary things they need to pass to the next grade.

i think that youll are a great school but you'll can tone it down a little on the dress code

Fayette County schools need to be revamped and brought up to date with the larger county schools. Having graduated from college and being aware of what a child needs prior to college I can safely say that children graduating from our counties schools will not be fully prepared for college. Parents must take it into their own hands to complete the education where the Fayette County Schools fall short.

Students in Fayette County are not challanged enough. Their education is okay but falls behind larger county schools. Parents if you want your child to have a quality education you must be willing to teach beyond what they do at the Fayette County Schools. If you don't you child will not be prepared for the challanges of college.
