I was nervous to take my daughter out of private school and enroll her into public school but I did and she has thrived and had a 3.7 gpa in this school and has a lot of programs that I haven't seen in any other public school the principle is very visible and runs the school well!

My school is not the best school but it is very good. As a white student in an almost completely Hispanic school I say this is a fairly good school - good kids and no gangs racism or fights. I remember one fight that happened and the {unfortunately unarmed} security guards had them taken to the Principal as soon as they were seen/reported. Kids around her have the "gangster look" but no drugs cigarettes alcohol or weapons are ever found or heard of. There is little theft people always say "there's so much theft" but there isn't. I haven't had anything stolen from me and neither have all the 6th 7th and 8th graders I know. The worst theft I hear about is when a friend found a couple of bucks on the ground and kept it. As for racism if you're a white kid you'll get picked on. Kids are going to call you lots of names in Spanish so you better be prepared knowing Spanish curse words so you at least know what they're saying about you and how to address it with a teacher. Asian students are very much accepted they seem to "click" with the Hispanics. African-American students have a fair share and the American students are often picked on but it's not too bad. Nice )

If Cesar Chavez is a great school my standards must be too high. The school has gang activity and bullies. The school is trying to address which is a positive. My son has had several items stolen from him throughout the year. I met with some teachers who openly admit they do not have time to check the student's work. Are you kidding me? This is a responsibility that comes with the job. Poor attitude and poor leadership. Most of the teachers refuse to join the PTSA. Obviously promoting the children is not important at this school. Cesar Chavez does not provide an atmosphere where children can reach their full potential.
