My son attended Roosevelt for 7th and started 8th. I felt this was a good school. Great communication with MOST of the teachers. dedicated staff academically he really thrived there. Problem was he had to leave because of bullying. Don't know if other kids had this problem but he did. I was pretty upset because other than that if was a very good school for him

My daughter went there and her experience was wonderful! The teacher communication was amazing ! I agree that the strictness of the staff and principal is good. It has produced better high school students! I feel they prepared my daughter for vista high in a way I doubt other schools could have! I have spoken with other parents in the district and I am glad roosevelt is our school! Her siblings will go here and that makes us happy!

I have a similar issue to the poster on 5/28/08 has. Communication is horrible w/some teachers at this school. It's amazing that it's 2010 and you can't even get visibility into what is happening in your childs cirriculum during the week(i.e. what projects their working on how they're graded etc...). You have to find out from your children and then go visit the teacher to get access to what is gonig on. Every teacher should have a webpage where they can list out the kids assignments for the week and parents should have access so they can reinforce what is being taught at school. Or have the teachers send out an email at the beginning of each week. That is what email and web pages are for communication. Getting emaill responses from some teachers is like pullling teeth!

I have been very unhappy about the communication between parents and teachers at this school. I personally do not understans how these scores are accurate. I do not feel that they are a true reflection of Roosevelt Middle School.

I don't think all the rules are fine some aren't strict enough and some of the rules are to strict. Some of the teachers go way to hard on the class..This school gives out a lot of homework!the secretarie mrs.Amy is the worlds best! this is a really good school! go Wildcats! the dance's are really fun!

Great teachers curriculum is stimulating and parents are involved closely with child(s) learning.

Yeah this scool is pretty cool. The principal-and one of the supervisors may be a little on the srict side but I think that's what it takes to run a middle school with almost 2 000 kids. One of the reasons I like goin there is some of the awsome teachers we've got some weirdos....but mainl there are occasional times when we get a cool person that teaches in a fun interesting way. The main thing I son't like much is the cell phone rule.

This is a great school. The math and science programs have really engaged our son and most teachers try very hard to make the transition to high school successful. Those that complain about traffic need to just slow down and be patient my son has never had a safety incident in three years there. Very focused on student success.

The student to teacher ratio is too high the traffic patterns are unsafe for pick up and drop off.

I attended this school when the new part of the school was first opened. These were first rate facilities and we had awsome equipment it was goreous! I think the administration and teacher were awsome for normal kids but they did not know what to do with children who needed more attention if your child exceeds expectations and gets bored easily this may not be a school for your child.

The teachers and administration at this school are wonderful. My son truly enjoys going.

My son attended 8th grade and my daughter 6-8th grade at Roosevelt. Both had excellent experiences but the budget cuts in Vista Unified are beginning to show with so many activities vital to a middle school student's experience gone now. They have excellent teachers and my daughter was fortunate to have some former Teacher of the Year as her instructors. If I had a problem and addressed it to the Vice Principal the matter was dealt with in a timely manner. My daughter moves on to Vista High next year and I know both she and I will miss the close-knit environment we felt at Roosevelt.

My son is finishing the 7th grade and was happy at school every single day for the past two years. Every single teacher my son has had the opportunity to work with made him feel special confident and want to work hard. Each one had their own style and always took the time to get to know my child whether it be to listen to a personal story or answer a question.
