My child's school is a wonderful place for learning and my child loves it there. The teachers are nice to her and it is the perfect place for her to learn with students in her advanced-honors level.

My school is the best school in my opinion because the school helps the students learn in the best way that they can learn and also they help students do their best in everything. The school also encourages students to expand their umbrella of possibility and help them realize and see the whole world as one big place where they can succeed.

I transferred my child from another public school to Walker in 7th grade as we rec'd an "offer" and thought it would be a great opportunity. When comparing it to our previous school the biggest difference is the work-load and unfortunately a lack of direction and communication from the teachers and administration. There is a LOT of busy work and homework that leaves virtually NO time for after school activities. There is only one semester of PE and I find that very sad. Kids need to have physical activity and with the work-load it's almost impossible to play a sport. Communication with teachers & administration is poor at best. It is still not "officially" an IB school as they are still in the process of becoming one. The grass isn't always "greener" on the other side!

No complaints about the teachers. The principal however had to have gotten his job based upon someone he knows. He is condescening ineffective and it is no secret that he does not possess a spirit to serve. My children witnessed this behavior and we turned it into a teachable moment even those in authority over us don't always respond in best manner but we still must respect those in authority over them. I will respect him by taking my kids away from his school. Bummer I was so excited about it being an IB schoolsch

Do not send your child to Walker !! Despite having a great neighborhood middle school we chose to put our child in Walker for the IB. The teachers have shown no communication skills and could care less about their students. I actually have witnessed eye rolling in a conference while discussing my child's lack of progress. There has been no growth in anywhere except band. The band teacher is excellent and definitely shows the passion for her students lacking in the rest of the school. Bullying is very present in the school and despite a report line you can make anonymously nothing is ever addressed and the bullying continues to get worse. The car line is extremely unorganized and they actually scream blow whistles and flail their arms around and around like crazy people at the parents. Its quite the scene! I am so relieved this school year is finished so I can put my child in a different school. Honestly any school is better than this school!! I have heard nothing but complaints from fellow parents about what a joke it is.

walker was an amazing school to attend. i left last year befor they changed into an IB school. the library has thousands among thousands of interesting books. i dont like to read but somehow the librarian mrs.LaBarbera got me to read some interesting books. the teachers work with your skill levels and make sure that you are understanding what they are lecturing on. our administration was the most< down-to-earth caring people and are very easy to work with. when i was attending walker i was proud to be a wolf and always was greatful for everything that they help me with. lastly our volleyball team was amazing and thanks to them they helped me accomplish make my high school team. with a 2nd place district win under my flag i was thrilled to go on and live my dream of volleyball. goood luck choosing a school for your child but i would highly reccomend WALKER MIDDLE SCHOOL ] go wolves

Unfortunately this school and IB program did not meet my expectations too. My child is an honor student and the demand of work the teachers give is apalling!!! Massive amount of homework and weekend projects constantly. It's not ideal if your child is involved in after-school sports. The school also needs major renovations and upgrades. If considering make sure you look into how many students transferred or opted out of the program.

Though this school has now become IB (International Baccalaureate) it has not met my expectations. Williams IB another middle school that is experienced at IB is supposed to resemble this school. According to the IB website IB was created so that students could go from school to school without a change in curriculum. Walker is extremely poor compared to Williams and I wish they would improve the quality of their school.

My son attended Walker in 6th grade and is returning this year for 7th. We are very pleased with Walker last year was the first time my son made straight 'A's (even in his advanced classes) --- all while playing sports and being a memeber of the Walker band. We look forward to another great year.

My child is a student at walker middle school. He is attending 8th grade this school year coming up. I am sure this is not the norm of the school but last year we had some terrible teachers! My son entered walker as a advanced student in advanced classes and my son is a child that loves to learn. This past school year that all changed and we struggled getting him to focus and enjoy school. after many parent/teacher conferences nothing seemed to change. I am praying for a better school year this year coming up with teachers who are motivated and have the patience encourgement and dedication to teach. I know other parents who had problems with these teachers as well and their kids were advanced & great students! what a shame! Keeping my fingers crossed for a better school year 2007-2008!

I had three children all attend Walker Middle School. We had children in the school for six consecutive years. I am so happy with the school they push each child to their fullest ability offering help where needed. My three children entered High School in Honors or Advanced classes. The youngest of my three entered Walker an average student and left Walker an advanced student. The staff is supportive in both academics and athletics. Each child is given the opportunity and the encouragement to be the best they can be. The parent faculty communication is excellent. I do not know any families from Walker that have any complaints.
