I recommended this school. I like teachers workers and directors. They are accessible cooperative and respectful to children and parents. They know how to motivate children and have a code of conduct than create the right ambience for learning. Proper facilities.

There is no feedback whatsoever. Ive never received a test so I have no clue how his test taking abilities are. Parent involvement in the absolute minimum.

My daughter just started this school and it has been great so far! Her Teacher is awesome so friendly and very involved with each student and my daughter received an amazing welcome when she first came into the classroom. I am very happy with her new school and her academic progress is getting better. The students make a difference by moving ahead and working together as a team because of the quality and dedication of each teacher and exceptional staff and dynamic principal.

We moved to Aventura a couple of months ago and my daughter is currently attending the first grade at Waterways. She comes from a small fantastic school in Miami in which parents are extremely involved academics are good and the teachers and principals were always available. I am happy with her teacher at Waterways who has so far being been great. I had however the worst experience of my life the other day when I got delayed at a medical appointment and was half hour late to pick up my daughter. For about 45 minutes after my arrival the school personnel was unable to find my daughter. Just like that they could not tell me where she was. They were looking everywhere and NO ONE KNEW WHERE SHE WAS. I eventually found her (with the older kids- during their dismissal). Later I tried to speak with the principal who was unavailable so I tried to schedule an appointment. I received a call from his assistant who began the scheduling processed by narrating the events and basically blaming me because I had been late. I don't think this woman is a mother or even begins to realize what they put me through. A school losing a child for even a minute is not acceptable.

My daughter started kindergarten here and so far has had a good experience thanks to her teacher. The class size is quite large (normal I think for miami-dade county). Her teacher is on top of her academic progress However the teacher has had to use a microphone to keep the kids in the class under control. My daughter reports that over half the kids have trouble settling down to learn. I think her teacher has made her experience positive. Otherwise the school is large impersonal bare and quite crowded.

I find this public school school to be exceptional so far. The teachers are top notch. Kids grow up fast and become confident in no time. The school is fairly new so of course there will always be issues that a school struggles with in the beginning. I can not comment on the 8th grade review because I am not aware of it. My kids are in the lower levels and for now i feel they are receiving a great education. The offer great programs as well!! Its hard to find a school like that. The overcrowded issue will soon be resolved but for now it doesn't make a difference because of the extra teachers and the control they have over them. Security is extremely important to me and i always see someone when i walk in.. but if they want to be even more on top of it fine with me because that's what really matters to avoid unwanted trespassers fights breaking out or kids getting lost. Every school has its flaws here and there.. so i give this school 5 stars for the great achievement it has started off with. I'm sure it will soar to perfection with years to come.

I am very happy with what the school has to offer. They have some very strong teachers and the program is great! The school is well equipped with the needed supplies and the parents are ALWAYs willing to provide what's missing. The kids are friendly and happy! They are even coping well with the fact of being overcrowded by providing 2 teachers for the overcrowded calsses. Mother of a 1st grader.

This school is an excellent public school that is in the area. The teachers are very receptive and always willing to make time to discuss your child's academic progress. The 5th grade core subjects teachers are a young and progressive group of teachers that are good at what they do. I believe they are LEADERS in Florida education.

great school great teachers but the safety of the students is its only downside. the 8th grade wing is usually crowded when the bell rings and racial profanity is heard almost every day. and the 8th graders don't get along very well with each other. fights are common but short and the main office probablly gets 20 referals a day from the 8th grade most of which come from the remedial classes. in general i believe that a CSI program is needed to keep 8th grade in check.

My family is new to the area and I was highly impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of the office staff. The teachers have taken extra time to introduce themselves to me and to ensure my children are comfortable in their classes. The other students are friendly and immediately accepted my children. I did not give the school 5 stars since we are still new to the school. Registration for 2 children took slightly over an hour. Class assignment seemed to take up most of the time. One mother was EXTREMELY upset that her registration took a long time as she did not have the required documents and had to make several trips back to the office. I spoke with 3 Hispanic ladies in the office and ALL were fluent in English.

the princepal will not permit parties field day or field trips .the school staff cant speak english and the tearcher that won teacher of the year is out of her mind. the school is unsafe and thier are fights almost every week. i am a student. i will problably get into trouble but thats how bad the school is no free speach. the princepal needs to be fired.

A serious need for structure. The teachers might be good but the staff members are so unorganized and incompetent. I have never been to a school where it took 4 1/2 hrs to register a child. Where the principal and vice principal where no where to be found. I mean are they crowded and taking more kids than they can handle then they should call in for some reform to get the issues resolved. Wouldn't recommend this school.

Overall this is an excellent clean modern school. As in any large organization there are superstars (teachers) and also some underachievers. This school is unique in that it offers a 'Dual Language Program' beginning in Kindergarten. My child who just completed Kindergarten began the year speaking only English but now can converse FLUENTLY in Spanish. Phenomenal! There are some crowding and transportation issues but when you consider the facility staff and opportunities offered by this PUBLIC school it's easy to let those issues slide. Safe secure clean and socially diverse - some of the best attributes of this WONDERFUL school.

I do not agree with the last comment. This school is new and they are rated A in a very short time they have been in opened. My son goes to this school and he likes it more than his previous private school. Kids do have PE 3 times a week.

My child has been studying here for couple of months and honestly it is not what I expected to find. Academic level is low teachers level is also low and there is a mess in transportation kids do not have PE the library process is a mess. I do not really recommend this school.
