Generally great classroom instruction and sports programs for a wide variety of students. Very disparate treatment of minority groups. Counseling is poor. Counselors are overworked under-supervised and do not have family's interests at a priority. The DRIVE all students to the most difficult colleges as that makes the department look good w/o concern about the student and their family.

I love Palatine. It has good teachers and the choir department is the best!!!!!! Has a great Special Education Program!

Palatine is a very very good school! Although it is not great like Fremd yet we are taking steps in the right direction! My two children loved Palatine and I loved watching them grow and mature their. The only bad part is the often shown lack-of-effort by teachers. Also our kids always lie deep in the shadow of cross-town rival Fremd High School.

Honestly this school is not nearly as good as other schools in terms of student body and teachers. Some of the teachers are very biased and some are very rude to students. The student body is generally pretty okay but very few people are in advanced classes and those who are in them struggle. But this is a public school so it's all par for the course.

Palatine is a awesome school with a wonderful caring staff. My son is a Freshman and has ADD with a IEP and the staff has worked with him to adjust to high school. He loves the school and is making friends. Keep up the GREAT job!

Greatest marching band around. Best cross country team around. Excellent diversity of student body and activities - there's something for everyone. The only problem lies in the quality of some teachers. Otherwise great departments are brought down by a few slackers or rampantly biased teachers.

I am a parent of a Freshman. Overall I am very pleased with the school and all the activities they have for the students. I am however disappointed with the amount of drugs and pot exchanged in the hallways and viewed by other students. I feel there should be random drug sniffing dogs brought in the school to keep everything in check.

In the last 10 years the teaching field has changed. Higher expectations more responsibility (must be counselor teacher and the parent) increased accountability and the list could go on... What I see are teachers administrators and staff stepping up continuously volunteering more time and energy to help every student be successful. The students have all the resources and caring teachers they could ask for.

Palatine High School is a great school with an amazing music and English departments. There are many extra-curicular activities and a wide range of electives to select from. Teachers are willing and helpful for all who need it.

Great school for sports academics and diversity. The music program must have drastically changed since the comment of 2004. Palatine is now on par with other district schools with the exception of crosstown rival Fremd which is excellent.

Palatine has very high academic standards. Parent involvement is 2nd to none based on attendants @ parent teacher s conference meetings as well as a professionally choreograph xmas program

While Palatine doesn't have the best test scores in the area it has qualiies other area schools can't match. Palatine has lots of diversity. Palatine has true school spirit. Not many other High Schools have pep assemblies for all the students. Once you've gone to Palatine a part of you never really leaves it. Great athletics and the best high school band in the state.
