This school is appalling very unionize no one takes responsibility for their actions school is very unprofessional teachers do not teach students and exhibit special treatment to students that are colored. They treat children with no passion nothing gets resolved my child has been robbed several times and nothing gets done my child and others gets bullied and nothing gets done. Don't bring your child here.

this school does not offer dancing basketball swimming or any of the classes that are named here...that its a lie and now kids frm the first grade come in at 8 25 out at 1 50 and second graders come in at 8 30 and out by 3pm. I am a single mother with no transportation it's inconvinient for me as a parent to do that only bc they say to save money. rediculos.

My twin boys have been attending Pine Lake since the the '07-'08 school year. The curriculum is very stringent and in-line with the FCAT requirements. I found that the teachers and principals have performed above par in the running of the school and keeping the kids educated and informed. My sons and I agree that this is an exceptional school.

My daughter [is in] kindergarten is graduating in two days thanks to the great teacher she has had Mrs Sutherland and to my effort as a mother helping my daughter at home she is going to 1st grade already reading and writing in English and Spanish well advanced in Mathematic as well as other fields. She couldn't have a better start this is a good base or ground that Pine Lake Elementary has offered to my daughter in her begginings as a student. The teachers at this school are very dedicated to their role as educators even when the conditions of the classrooms are not desirables.

Negatives 1. You can't volunteer in your own child's classroom. I'm not volunteering obviously. 2. Main focus is on the FCATs instead of general reading/writing/math etc. It gets my son sick and he's smart as a whip! 3. Some classes have too many students in them especially the ESE class according to my friends who have kids in them. Positives 1. Teachers are helpful to the kids. They don't let any of them hang behind. 2. B instead of a D school this year. 3. The school keep the parents informed. 4. Most teachers are not from the 'old school' of 'speak when you're told to speak'. 5. Most teachers encourage participation of the students.

i think it is a very good school

I believe that this school can do much more for our children. This school has failed to give our child a good education. Punishing kids to walk up and dowm with their backpacks on theirs back is not good. Our children deserve a good education and it is time that someone took a closer look at this school. Because when a kid is in third grade he or she should be about to read and write as a third grader not trying to learn to read at that time. There is alot of things missing at this school and the only ones that are losing here are our children.

had 3 children in Pine Lake Elem. Pulled them out at the end of the 2001-2002 year due to poor conditions for learning at this school (20 minute lunches consisting of hot dog & ff or similar - poor nutrition no daily recess class rooms only separated by partitions so that class participation has to be very muted. At least one teacher that worked well only with a few favored students and shoved the rest off on the school councelor. ) The actions of the school administration seemed to be directed toward limiting parental participation ( meetings announced same day of meeting at an hour when most parents could not arrange to attend on short notice etc.) On the plus side - we did encounter several (at least 3 directly) teachers who were very caring and skillful in using what resources and time they were allowed.
