Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS)

In 2010-2011, the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) was used to test students in reading in grades 3 through 9; in writing in grades 4 and 7; in English language arts in grades 10 and 11; in mathematics in grades 3 through 11; in science in grades 5, 8, 10 and 11; and in social studies in grades 8, 10 and 11. TAKS is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Texas. The grade 11 Exit Level TAKS is a high school graduation requirement. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.

My daughter loves this school. I feel like the teachers here actually care about about the students. They are not just there for a paycheck. They put everything they have into theese kids. My daughter left her previous school due to bullying from other students. She also complained about teachers constantly on thier cell phones during class time at her previous school. One of the first things my daughter said after starting at Cross Timbers was that the teachers are never on thier cell phones .She also said they make learning fun and actually teach. This school doesn't even get as much tax money as the public school in the area since it is a charter school. They put everything they have into these kids. I am glad we found this school and that my daughter is excited to go to school once again.

I am a former student of Crosstimbers Academy and I can honestly say that CTA was and will forever be the best four years of my life by far. I enjoyed CTA greatly and I recommend it to anyone looking for something different. CTA cares about it's students and their educational needs and wants. Crosstimbers doesn't tolerate bullying fighting and disrespect. If you want a wholesome fun and in my own opinion amazing High School experience look no further then Crosstimbers Academy.

My son went here and did way better than at traditional school. The staff is very nice and helpful. There is more one on one with the students also. We were very pleased with Crosstimbers Academy.

My son began attendeing 'Cross Timbers' in August this year. He had been very frustrated in our public school system not only academically but with the number of out of control classmates. He now has enthusiasm for learning again! The teachers and staff in general seem to really enjoy what they do...the students don't have to 'take a number' to get the individual attention they need. I couldn't be happier with his experience there!

I was a student at Crosstimbers Academy in Weatherford Texas and I accomplished more at this school Then I would have ever accomplished in a regular public school. I was an early graduate and now I am in college. I actually have a future because I had the chance to have teacher who really cared.

Crosstimbers Academy has made a big difference in my daughter's education. The teachers and administrators really care about the students and have found a way to reach her where regular public school had failed.

This school has made a huge difference for my child. She has went from failing skipping school and staying in trouble to passing and now has perfect attendance. Her attitude has made a wonderful change. Thank you
