Pennsylvania System of State Assessments (PSSA)

In 2011-2012 Pennsylvania used the Pennsylvania System of State Assessments (PSSA) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 11 in math and reading, in grades 5, 8 and 11 in writing, and in grades 4, 8 and 11 in science. The results for reading, writing and math are displayed on GreatSchools profiles. The PSSA is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Pennsylvania. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the test.

This school is nothing but a garbage dump! It's a haven for gang thugs and the administration has no control at all over this school. This principal Reginald Fisher at last report didn't even have his principal's certificate/license!!! He's a sawed-off little runt with a Napoleonic complex. The school is consistently on Pennsylvania's "Persistently Dangerous Schools" list and academically it's loaded with remedial teaching because the skills are so low there.

I graduated Frankford high in 1970 it was a wonderful school then and is to this day. The students and their parents are the problem. Education is free if you chose to work for/towards it

Rules have been enforced so that academics can be taught. Students are better behaved than in recent years.

poor school the staff worry to much about discipline the students than actually teaching them

The new principle has shown to be less than satisfactory. He is constantly making rediculous threats over the loud speaker. As a senior at Frankford high school I believe the previous years shown to be better than this year is turning out to be.

it is not the best school but ever since i left my chater school i've learned alot more. the public school system is not babying me so that helps me learn on my own and if i need help it is always there.

This is my daughters second year in Frankford High. The school works hard to provide the kids with a safe learning facility. The teachers take a great intrest in the children and what they learn. So far I am very pleased with my daughter atending frankford.

My Daughter went from a Catholic School to Frankford I was scared for her but The Teachers that I have encountered there have been very helpful and the Principal there is just Great. My Daughter had a lot of problems in the Private (Catholic) School that I sent her to last year She has met some great Kids there the only problem that I have seen is that Frankford does not get the funding that other Public Schools get and they really need and deserve more funding I have never encountered Teachers that really care for their Students as much as the teachers who work there.

Frankford has fallen a long way in 10 years. Whereas in the mid 90s it was one of the city's finest high schools it's now nothing more than just another inner city high school. Where once the school offered a number of A.P. courses now there are barely students graduating with skills sufficient to succeed in college if they even choose to attend college. Discipline at the school is a joke. There are metal detectors stationed at the entrances but students with weapons bypass the metal detectors by cutting through the gymnasium in the morning. In short this is not a safe or a quality school. Avoid this school.

I think that frankford highschool is a ok school. Its just the kids in the school that make it bad i went to frankford highschool and it is all about hanging with the right crowd and y'll stay out of trouble. The teachers are good and everything else except some kids but overall it is good.

I attended franford in 2004 and I think it's a poor excuse for a learning environment. No one really cares about there students. Anyway I dont reccommend this school to no one. Richard franks us navy yokosuka japan

Frankford's academic programs are wonderful. They teach you how the real world will be after high school. They also have a wonderful choir and their sport teams are the best in the country.
