One star for the teachers. Who are great. Zero stars for everything else. Cliques. Discipline not consistent. And the like.

We have two children one graduated and is now in high school. Our other child is in 7th grade at Immaculate Heart of Mary Philadelphia PA. Both have received a GREAT educations. We are glad we chose IHM. The bond this school has and the commitment to the children is amazing. If you are looking for the perfect school come on over. IHM is it!!!!!
I have 4 children we have been at IHM school for the last 16 years and we will be there another 6 years. I feel that our school is one big family that we are part of and all of our teachers and staff are fabulous. My kids have been very happy and at home at IHM school and have learned alot academically and socially. As my kids have moved on to High School they are proud to say that they had 10 memorable years stating in their pre-k year thru 8th grade and whenever they have the chance to visit IHM they do. I would highly recommend our School to any incoming students thinking of coming to IHM School.
I have three children who graduated from IHM and one in seventh grade. I know that all of my kids received a solid base to build on in high school. The honors math program is top notch at IHM. Technology is used daily in every classroom and the kids are challenged individually and as a group. The teachers are committed to delivering the curriculum in a structured yet interactive way. The home and school board presents many fun community building opportunities throughout the year. The CYO is one area that seems to let a lot of kids down. It's not intentional but there are kids left out either because the teams are not strong enough to compete or sometimes because they are too strong and kids don't get to play. The structure of the cyo excludes parents and it would probably not be hard to fix. Overall IHM is a wonderful place for your children to spend their grade school years. I couldn't be happier with the education our children received at IHM.
I went to IHM for nine years and loved every minute of the experience. All the kids in my class were friendly with each other and all our teachers were engaging and informative. I participated heavily in CYO at IHM and never had any complaints. The community is amazing and the school would be nothing without all the dedicated parents who spend hours a week volunteering and coaching to give the students the best opportunities possible.
IHM is very "clicky" with the parents & their children if you're not in the "click" your son or daughter if they play sports will just sit on the bench while the children of the "coach" & "clicks" play the sport it's heartbreaking when CYO is supposed to be Catholic Youth Organization I never saw so much discrimination in my entire life. My child was bullied teased & didn't even want to go to school most of the time. The teachers are young inexperienced & only stay a year or two. If I had it to do over I definitely would NOT send my child to IHM. Also there's nothing "free" if your child needs a tutor you have to pay a teacher "cash" in order for them to tutor your child when tuition when my son graduated was up above $3000 yearly. The entire school is slanted towards the "click" & not the children at all. The women "parents" are not friendly at all they stare at you talk behind your back it's really petty. I was happy my son made it through & was out of there. All my complaints fell on deaf ears I actually had to contact the Archdiocese about my son NOT playing 1 game while in CYO he just sat on the bench heartbreaking. Find another school
My son attends IHM and he loves it. He came from another area Catholic school and the difference was amazing. He has gone from struggling to honors every trimester and we couldn't be more pleased with the transition. The principal and staff are caring. There are many active parents and for that I am extremely grateful.
I am very happy with this school. My kids have been to almost every school in Roxborough starting with Shawmont. Shawmont was good and Holy Child was great. We had problems at Dobson with a principal who is no longer there but it's a public school which can't do much with disruptive kids except move them around. Holy Child was awesome but there was no emphasis on CYO activities or Home and School. Many reviews on here have criticized the "clicks" at IHM but those "clicks" get the job done. They keep tuition lower than Holy Child and volunteer for events that Holy Child never had and aren't even available in public schools.
IHM is a great school with a wonderful staff great group of kids and strong home and school. They are making every stride necessary to ensure that teh IHM education is top notch and that every family is part of the process and the community. I would not trade IHM for any other school.
I love the community and my children are getting a great education the Wilson reading method has my kidnergartener reading and my third grader loves her teacher and is learning so much!
Okay so i'm a student at IHM and i hate it. Our teachers play favorites all the time and we use our fundings for unnessacary things. I think we should buy new library books instead of changing the colors of the walls.
My daughter attends school at IHM and she gets a first rate education however as everyone else has stated I too feel it is very clicky. The children of the mothers who don't work seem to catch all the breaks. The Moms that are able to be at every event and volunteer for everything obviously run everything and make it difficult for anyone on the 'outside' to fit in. I'm grateful for those mothers who are able to volunteer but children of mothers who have to work full time should not be penilized.
I feel that IHM is clicky however I feel that they ALWAYS find fun inexpensive ways to keep the kids happy and interested in school which to me is my 1st priority. My son goes to IHM and loves it gets a excellent education and I just don't get involved in what goes on between the clicks.
This is a lovely school with a very friendly staff and student body.
IHM is an extremly bad school. It's full of clicks and racists. It's not ethnically mixed nor does it want to be.
