This is one of the best schools in Philadelphia. Sad the neighborhood is turning to a lower class of people who want things for free. You get what you pay for. Teachers are dedicated to the children. You will not find a better school for your child.

Sad that the school is closing. I heard they just started an excellent Prek program as well. I have been hearing nothing but good things about it. It's a shame a good school like that has to close its doors after 80 years.

Saint Bernards School is truely one in a million. I made a tough transition to the school in my 7th grade year. The principal really gets to know each student and makes sure everything runs smoothly. I am now a sophomore in high school and just wish I could go back to feel as comfortable as I did in Bernards. The teachers take time and effort with each student and never stop encouraging the students to go above and beyond. This is one Catholic school that should never ever shut down.

St. Bernards is an excellent school two of my children attend St. Bernards they love it and they have learned so much. My 9 y/o loves school and never wants to miss a day. The academics are fantastic as well as the social activities. The teachers are very caring and know each student personally including the Principal. I would recommend St. Bernards to anyone and I do!!!!

My kids and I love this school. The staff really takes time to know each and every student. I would recommend this school to everyone that wants a great private school and parish.

Sad to hear only 222 students in the school I dont agree with the comment on the mighty dollar at all. A lot has to do with the neighborhood changing and allowing section 8 to take over. My two brothers and I all went through eight years and graduated from St. Bernards and loved it!!! We had a wonderful experience and would recommend the school to everyone in the neighborhood who is interested in a private school. Its a school and parish you will feel comfortable and love.

I was not pleased with this schools new pre-k program. the staff was not patient with my 4 year old and would call me to get my son when there was a proplem. The teachers are overwhelmed with students that they dont spend any time with each child. When problems arise they dont have the time and choose to dismiss a student. They label from day one and thats all they see. Why are so many philly catholic schools shutting down and why do so many people choose not to send their children there? They need to stop under staffing and start caring about the kids again. Catholic schools only care about the mighty dollar.

This school is a gem - the prinicpal has sets a tone which is both academic and personal. The students at St. Bernard feel loved and they are given acadimic skills they need.

St. Bernards is an awesome school. The staff are very dedicated and know and value each child individually. The academics are awesome and I know my daughter is in a caring safe environment. The after school program is wonderful and I love the very real sense of community in the school with my child and myself. As a parent I feel welcomed with any comments or concerns and they are addressed promptly. I know that my children will thrive in such a great environment!
