I have a 6th grader and an 8th grader. We tried this school after using a private school for most of their lives. I cannot tell you how disappointed I am in this school system. The guidance workers never call back...even after my child had been bullied on the bus and hit in the hallway by students. They claim to have a 'No-bullying' policy but do nothing when things happen. My child was so scared to go on the bus that I had to switch back to private school. (My child is very small). My 8th grader wanted to leave oley after all the homeowrk assignments she was receving were things she was taught at her private school in THIRD grade!!! It was so simple and she said all they did was fool around in the halls and most students didnt take school very seriously there. I would not recommend

We recently moved to Oley Valley from out of state and our kids(7th and 9th grade)love the school system. Up until now they have always attended private school (with 2-4 hours of homework each night). The teachers in Oley are dedicated to their job and to the kids. Whenever we have questions or concerns phone calls are returned promptly. I feel the kids are given very little homework with some assignments due at the end of the week. Middle school has study hall at the end of each day with staff on hand for tutoring homework help etc. It is clear to us after seeing all of the test papers research essays and project grades come home that our children are learning and accelerating as they should be. Our 9th grader takes all accelerated college prep courses and our 7th grader is headed down that same path. We are very satisfied.
Spent over 47 thousand on sped program. Teachers asign alot of homework. Unfair disiplinary. Would reccomend a charter school if you live in Oley School district.
