This is our first year here and see most of the reviews are older! We have had a horrible time. The classes are overcrowded the teacher seems very disorganized. I am more than displeased with our experience here. We are pursuing charter schools and private schools. We will not be attending this school next year. I have spent time volunteering in my daughter's class and the chaos was unremarkable!

My daughter has spent 1 year at PHS and spent 2 years at Seawell in CH. She actually prefers PHS and has had a brilliant year!!!

We have been attending this school now for 2 yrs and our first yr was a disapointment. The teachers so far seem rushed to do what they are being told needs to be done and getting a bit frustrated with their job. I do hope this situation changes or we will be forced to look into alternative schools like so many others have done that we know in the area.

Great kids. Great teachers. Great facility.

Our son has had a very positive experience at Perry Harrison. We think the primary teachers are great with a few exceptions. And the new administrators are very committed involved and are always available to parents. We have been very pleased with this school.

My 4 kids have attended perry harrison for 1 years. and i'm am not happy they are in grades 5th-8th. and i'm not satisfied. their grades have dropped the first quarter from all A's to C's And D's! The class size is way to big. and the teachers are very unorganized! The school is too small and cramped. there are 8 trailers! the cramped situation is utterly uneceptable. I also do not feel that it is a very safe school enviorment for my children. My youngest daughter comes home crying at least once week complaining that she doesn't like her school and she wants to move. this is not a good situation to be in. I would not send a child to this school we and many of other parents i know who's children go to this school are not happy with it.

Our son has attended Perry Harrison for the last 7 years and we have had a wonderful experience. He loves to attend school and has had excellent teachers all 7 years. There is strong parent and community support. The administration and staff are strong as well. We feel very fortunate to have such a great school in our neighborhood.

Perry Harrison School has a safe and caring environment which welcomes children and parents. The teachers are focused on children and their individual well being and academic success. Time and time again I have seen teachers extend themselves for the benefit of the students. The teachers at Perry Harrison School have high expectations for the students and challenge each child to reach their potential. The parents at Perry Harrison are supportive of the school and support not only their personal children but all the children of the school. Perry Harrison promotes a vision of belonging to a community of learners and future leaders with teachers parents community and staff working together to support each child reaching their full potnetial.

Our three children have attended Perry Harrison for two years now and we have been very pleased with their academic growth and progress. Prior to Perry Harrison our children attended school out of state and the resources and personal attention they have received at Perry Harrison have been outstanding! We have found the parents to be very welcoming and supportive of the school and teachers. We feel very fortunate to have found this gem of a school!

Having been an active parent and volunteer in one of the top school districts in the country prior to coming to Chapel Hill I continue to be impressed by the quality of education my children are receiving at Perry Harrison. I have found a nice balance of high academics - which are on par with Chapel Hill Schools - while affording my children a more diverse and 'real' experience.

K-8 solid academic structure. Liked the transition into upper grades K-8th. Safe and supportive administrative staff. Elementary teachers somewhat inconsistent-some very good others okay. Middle school teachers very good. Limited after-school sports programs. Music teacher excellent. Brightest kids offered some additional programs but generally typical public school pacing in class. Principals have been exceptional. Area rapidly expanding in population may change/dilute this schools quality. High schools in county are below average standards which is disappointing which may change as the population increases. Chapel Hill high schools are exceptional/highly competitive and are an option if relocation and higher taxes are not an issue.
