I graduated from PHS in 2012 and the primary reason I'm posting this is to provide a more recent review. Some of the staffing has chanced since my attendance but not by much. While I was there I took honors where available and AP history. Along with those classes I took a good deal of technical classes there including CAD and 3D animation. These areas are where PHS shines they had and I maintain that they still do an EXCELLENT technical education department. By the time I graduated I learned a large amount about Adobe Photoshop Autodesk 3DS Max AUTO CAD as well as various video editors. Some areas where I found the teaching to be subpar would be in a few of the sciences mainly the lower introductory sciences you'd take as a freshmen. Above that we had some great teachers my chemistry teacher held a doctorate in pharmaceuticals and my Physics teacher was a submarine veteran. One other area where quality was varied was the English department. My math teachers were excellent as well as history teachers. The biggest problem that I had there really was the students. Some are VERY disrespectful with no idea how important an education is and the few ruin it for the many

The faculty is rude. Just plain rude. The academics are just ridiculous. I agree with Carissa you can pass without doing anything they don't even challenge you. The majority of teachers don't care about their jobs or their students. Today I couldn't attend a pep rally and I got sung that I had no spirit and was told rudely goodbye. It was for personal reasons. What I'm trying to get across is the faculty is just as bad as the students. There is so much disrespect not only from the majority of teachers but from the kids as well. It's so irritating. There is hardly any parent involvement it's a sad excuse for a school honestly.

I am a recent graduate from Plainfield High School and I must say that we should not bash all of the teachers at Plainfield High School. I feel that the school system does have alot of professionals there who care about their job and students. Where the problem in Plainfield lies is with the some parents. If you look at the parent involvement for Plainfield it is pretty low. I remember when going there the attitudes some students had toward school and I feel it is a shame because your education is what is going to get you anywhere. I feel that with a great new facility students should take advantage of their oppourtunities. If students want to succed try don't blame it on teachers because you slacked. Teachers can only do so much. I succeeded with the help of my teachers and because I chose.

ok i currently attend plainfield high school and i have to say that it is the best school i have ever went to. First of all i think we have the best teaching staff around who love to do their job and actually care about the student. There not only there for teaching but the teachers take it upon themselves to help students deal with problems. Its good knowing u can feel conformable in school. The guidance department is really good and has some wonderful people who can help u with your problems. The administration is as helpful as any. We have a principle who really cares and helps. Our athletics are grade A but where getting there. Our school is small in numbers but that just makes the experience all the better.

I am a graduate of PHS and found look back on it with fondness. Like any school (or business) there are great teachers and there are bad teachers and there are some who fall in between either remaining stationary or moving in eithger a positive or negative direction. Obviously the school district does have its share of economic problems however the faculty still manages to educate the majority of the students to an acceptable level and beyond.

I am a former graduate of Plainfield High School and no matter what anyone else says I think that Plainfield is just as good as any other school around. The teachers there are some of the best around. They help you as much as they can with personal problems or school related problems. Those really love what they do. With money in short supply some use their own money to give their students whatever they need to make the work easier to understand or do. I may not be there now but when I was there I loved it. I have nothing but good to say about this school. My department was the tech department and it is one of the best I've been in. Drap helped me so much. Without him I most likely would not have graduated. They were all the best teachers around. Shannon Sadosky

Carissa I dont know your but I like you my name is Gary and I've been sent home two times this year for no reason stated in th school handbook. I understand that any person would state this however mines actually true. On the third day of shcool myself as well as a friend were sent home for wearing the bags to be known as messanger bags i read the handbook front to back and theirs is nothing in it that states that a messanger bag cant be worn. Secondly i was sent home for taking to many straws in the lunchroom. No not just a couple extra staws but a handfull I was doing so to protest the raises lunch prices and the fact that we cant purchase anything other then what they serve all vending mashines are turned off while the lunch workers serve food.

I'm a former student of PHS who attended for 2 years. Let me tell you from a student's can get away with not doing work and still pass. You can get away with knowing nothing and yet you will still pass. I know because I did. When we moved to California and I transferred to a California highschool it was absolute night and day. In CA I was expected to actually show up to class read do work study and turn in my homework. At PHS I didn't have to do any of those things and yet I still passed classes still pulled A's and B's. Now why is this? At PHS the students have a lax attitude. I was in for a rude awakening when I left PHS and entered 'the real world'. This school's a joke.

In the past few years this school has had bad leadership quality from the principal. The teachers are very good at what they do even though they have very limited resources. The extracurricular activities could use better equipment. The students parents are rarely involved especially when it comes time to voting for the budget which always gets shot down a few times each year and it forces the school to try and operate on almost no money all year. Safety is good even with the rent-a-cop however the students do not respect the principal or vice-principal so there is little discipline. Luckily for the students a new school building is being constructed because of the poor quality of the current one. The new building however is already too small for the class sizes eventhough it is still being constructed.
