Generally speaking the school has a good environment. However we are not satisfied with the IEP staff and/or counselor.

i was a student there all my life up until 6th grade in the middle school then i left. i love the teachers!!! that was a good school for kids exept for the bullying.....

My children have been going to WCES since 2007. I am very hands on when it comes to my childrens education and at WC. I am able to be there as much or as little as I like. The staff/pta are great and really know your children. We moved to pooler so my children could go to WCES and I am happy with our choice. Being a military family brings it's challanges but everyone at WC has been amazing and they understand the difficulties we go through and are more then willing to help.

I absolutely love this school. Both of my children are enrolled here and have been now for 3 yrs. The faculity are extremely helpful and very concerned for the well being of your child and their education. They are always willing to help and will do anything they possibly can to make sure your child is getting the most out of their classroom. Also the communication between the teachers and parents is wonderful. Not once have I ever felt out of the loop in what is going on from a day to day basis with my kids.

My son has been at WCES for 2 years and we love it! The teachers and principal are wonderful! They make learning fun and exciting! The school offers many after school activities for students and parents. This school definitely deserves higher that 5 stars!

Wces is an ok school. Mt child is there in the 4th grade and i have major concerns w/race issues the teachers or parents dont address!! also there is a lot of favoritism towards the students whose parents r in the military. The school is loosing its spunk because of the different 'type' of children moving to the area. Not impressed @ all!

I love West Chatham Elem. The teachers are awesome and the staff is accommodating. I have my children on restricted release due to fear of their father taking them out of school without my knowledge and they have been very strict about who my children can be released to. My only complaint has nothing to do with the school directly it is with the buses and their scheduling difficulties. But the principle has been very pro-active about getting that straight. We are not a rich family by any means and the staff at the school have been very accepting of that matter. They have helped us with uniforms and last Christmas my children's names were placed on the Angel Tree. The volunteers who buy the gifts for the children were the angels. Without them my children wouldn't have had a Christmas because I couldn't afford it. Thank God 4 them!

have been involved in pta and as a volunteer since my oldest son started there six years ago now my liile one is in second grade and we still love it....our principal and teachers are excellent trying to help everychild to acchieve their best .....parent/school communication is awesome ...a happy safe place to send my child to

I've always thought highly of West Chatham. The teachers and staff have all been very accommodating and professional. Students seem to really get a good education especially in 3rd grade. Tammy and the other teachers seem to really know their work and try hard to make it interesting for students

I have to say that we really like West Chatham Elementary. My son is a vegetarian and brings his own lunch and he is never told he can't bring his beloved PB&J (where he gets his daily protein). The staff and administration have always been super pleasant and understanding. His teachers so far have been top drawer. We took our son out of private school and put him here so that he wasn't part of the elitest cliques in town. He gets a more realistic and diverse background at West Chatham. He is also in the gifted program at school and loves it.

I'm not impressed with this school at all. The only thing that i can say i love is my childs teacher. She is the only reason i have not took on another job to put my child in a private school. Saftey is only used when it benefits someone other than the student. Saftey is only used when the faculty thinks about it that day. If i can afford it my child will not be returning next year!

Do not send your child here with Food Allergies. They are more worried about a child's right to eat peanut butter than a childs right to live. We had to get a lawyer involved and have a 504 plan just to protect our son. We didnt ask that kids couldnt bring PB&J from home just that they didnt have it on the menu because of cross contamination. They refused so we lived all year sending my sons food and worrying about is he would have a reaction. It was as if they had never had a food allergy in the school. We moved to Effingham County and WITHOUT EVEN ASKING they took peanut products off the the menu! His teacher also made his classroom a peanut free Zone and does not allow parents to send peanut products for parties. Something else Chatham County/West Chatham Elem would not do.

I was not very impressed with this school at all. In the beginning I was excited that my child would be attending this school. It looked like it would be a great school. My child was in special ed and it was the most miserable experience of my life. We had to fight for any services that he received when he did receive services they would gradually take them away from him. I don't think I was expecting too much it's not too much to ask that he be able to read by third grade. He was supposed to be getting OT and the last year he was there they didn't even have an OT for the majority of the year. He attended from K-3. There was no encouragement for parental involvement whatsoever. We finally got tired of fighting with them and moved him into the magnet program. What a relief!

So far we have been very satisfied with WCES. Our family has lived in the area before and returned last year; there have always been horror stories floating around about the quality of Chatham County Schools. Thankfully we have had a very positive experience so far. Our daughter has had a very good 4th grade year and will be returning for the 5th grade in the fall.

This school is wonderful! The teachers are excellent and very hardworking! They go above and beyond for those students! Sometimes i drive past in the evenings and see teachers' cars at the school until 6 00 or 7 00 in the evenings! They are very dedicated and it definitely shows. The students love them and they really learn a lot.

My child has been going to West Chatham for 2 years now and overall I am satisfied not impressed. School safety could be tightend up a bit. The teacher invovlment however is excellent! Also the principal is very involved with the children. I have never been to a school where the principal is involved as much as Ms. Creech is including the schools I went to. Parent involvement could be better. Overall acedemics wise the school is great. My child was diagnosed with ADHD and the teacher has rolled with it and helped my child through his struggles. Which in turn has made it easier for me to tackle knowing that my childs teacher is there to help.
