I love this school and what it stands for--building up each child to his/her highest potential academically socially and Spiritually. We desire to help each student develop a passion for learning and serving others. As a staff we desire to continue growing in these areas as well. What sets our school apart? We teachers meet together every morning for shared devotions prayer and God's direction for our day. We intercede for families /students who might have a special area of need--anything from a family member needing a job to a student who is discouraged. As a school are we perfect? Of course not. What does make us excellent is the unity between family and school. We are on the same page teaching the same values and Truth that you are teaching at home.

I have sent all three of my children through OCS's preschool. I found this preschool to be excellent both spiritually and academically. My older two graduated knowing their alphabets counting to 100 reading simple words and writing phonetically. They continually came home asking questions about God and wanting to ask Jesus into their hearts. They also memorized many scriptures. They loved their teachers and their classmates. Currently I have a 4 year old in the program with a brand new teacher this year. I have loved both teachers and am pleased to see the new teacher continuing the high standards that were set with the previous teacher as well as bring fresh ideas and creative innovation to the program. I can't recommend this program highly enough!
We placed my daughter in this school this year 2012-13 for her first experience with Preschool. I am less than satisfied. The education is lacking and old school. While the learning of worship and the Bible is great the general education does not exist. My daughter is not challenged and it seems as though it is just social time. The teacher stated I don't bother teaching three year olds because they don't even know what their hand is. My one year old knows that much and more. My daughter is writing her ABC's from home teaching. In class they have only taught 5 colors in five months. There is no challenge here. We are despirately looking for a new placement now.
We are so blessed to have this school available for our children. The quality of instruction is far above that of the public schools. Class sizes are small so children can learn at their pace and curriculum is adjusted to their specific needs. The teachers do a great job of learning each individual student and helping them achieve their personal best. High morals and values are the standard. They learn to respect each other their school teachers and parents. Highly recommended.
We've had our daughter at OCS for two years and have learned to appreciate the larger public schools for the diversity standardized approach after seeing how a small insular private school works. This is a great little school for early grades but is not for every child or every family. The school needs a lot of parent involvement fund raising work and encouraging kids through homework. At the end of two years our daughter excels in all academic areas although she would no matter the school.
I have been a parent at OCS for 11 years. I am very pleased with the lower campus. (grades k- 6)I would highly recommend this school.Unfortunately there is a negative shift that takes place between the two.I have been very disappointed with the upper campus.I could not recommend the upper campus...for too many reasons to list.
The acedemic excellence of this school far exceeds the normal expectation for a public school level. Your child will be taught by highly qualified teachers in a safe learning environment. My 7 year old daughter started 1st grade this year her penmanship is excellent and her math and reading skills are a year above public school level. I would highly reccommend this school to all prospective parents.
